It's actually more blue and red, but BLRO does have some purple hue elements in particular lighting/picture situations and depending on your particular bezel batch.

BLRO, both design and function I think it's the best Rolex in the current line up.

The Daytona is nicer aesthetically but the GMT is more practical as it has date and a dual time. Rarely does me need a chrono…it just looks cool.

If really only one and done, of those, I normally would go for the classic (and supremely versatile) LN Sub Date. Brian’s photos make me double think that. Might need two. ;-)

I have to admit that I have never been crazy about the Submariner and GMT aesthetics (for a diver I'd go IWC Porsche Design Ocean 2000, but I prefer toying around in the air). Not sure I ever need a ceramic Daytona either but if I had to have one Rolex I'd give it a go (likely white, but like black as well).

Initial reaction from day one, the GMTs are leading the way.

The Sub Date is superb as an only piece because it has no PCL and I like the less busy looking bezel insert.

Interesting how fast tastes change.

I think a gmt function is more useful than a stop watch. Also, gmt bezel can be used as a timer. Not to mention… how many buyers are actually diving with these?

Personally, I have zero use for a GMT as I never travel but a timer on the other hand is critical for me. The GMT bezel’s detents are every half-hour so it’s a little inconvenient for accurate timing.

I’ve made this statement before and I’ll make it again, if I had to keep one watch from my collection it would be a Daytona. It was the first Rolex I truly lusted over +30 years ago and that hasn’t ever changed. I love all the others though, and since I won’t ever have to just have one watch, its immaterial.

Daytona in the pool of Rolex or all brands? Are you sure it’s not a PP? haha

Yes, if disaster struck and I had to keep just one watch it would be a tough decision between a zenith Daytona and a ceramic. Probably the zenith would win.

Wow, not even a PP
If disaster happens, just grab the whole watchbox, run and don’t think ok

If you held a gun to my head and said one watch only it would have to be the black ss Daytona But it’s torture to pick.

Out of those: 124060 LN.

Classic design, clean and symmetrical, uncluttered by a date window. Whether you're attire be completely cavalier, or a tuxedo, you are set with this on your wrist. Regarding 2nd time zones compared to a GMT, simple awareness will tell you what you need to know.

Black ceramic and white metal will never be in conflict with the rest of your ensemble. Often imitated, never duplicated, this is the timepiece that most homage watches hail from, as well as is the most counterfeited. Purchase one, and rest assured you shall have zero buyer's remorse.

I have the Sub in black and agree with you, it is faultless. But over the last few years of owning a black sub in some regard I am also finding it a bit too plain or vanilla. It works with everything, the design is timeless, but I am starting to feel it is losing character. The Hulk has a great sunburst dial, the Pepsi has some fun colors, The Daytona panda has a nice white and black contrast. I dunno, I am just finding the plain sub a bit generic lately.

It has the wearability of the classic black Sub but is so much more! The perfect one watch for me.

That's really tough. I went with the Sub LV but I'd be 50/50 between that and the BLRO.
