While the Lange timzeone is not my favorite Lange model I would say unless you absolutely dislike it and want to get rid of to hold off on this trade. A Rolex SS is no match to a Lange. In fact I traded my Pepsi towards a Lange 1.

Good lord, absolutely do not trade a watch on that level for a stainless Daytona. Multiple leagues apart.

Am I crazy to trade this Lange even-up for a black dial 116500LN Daytona?

I don’t think anyone will dispute that the Lange is a more “interesting” and “horologically finer” watch vs the Daytona. It is spectacular!

However, the Daytona is an infinitely better watch for day to day wearability.

How long have you had the Lange (follow up: are you tired of it?)? Has your lifestyle changed? For example, did you previously wear a suit everyday for work and needed a classic watch but now retired and hang out at the pool all day or tinker on vintage Porsches?

Answers about your lifestyle may be the best information to access which watch may be better for you.

Having said all of that, I can tell you that the black (specifically) Daytona is the one watch I would take if I could only have one watch. Like the classic black Sub, it is a perfect daily driver that can do anything from bathing suit to business suit to tux … but it is much more special than the Sub. I absolutely adore mine!

I'm +1 with Doug on this.

The fact that you are already considering the trade gives insight to what you really want of the two...

I wouldn't even consider it. That Lange is on a whole different level.

As nice as the Lange A may be, if you don’t want it then why keep it?
Get what you believe you will enjoy the most…

Do you wear the lange as a daily? Part of the Daytona's grey price is because it's easily a daily watch for the masses. Lange, in PM at that, is obviously worth more on a nominal basis, but not a daily wearer for the masses, which is why it hasn't experienced the same % increase as a SS daytona. I would immediately disregard anybody who claims Rolex is higher horology than Lange, especially when it comes to detail & craftsmanship, but at the end of the day, I'm a watch enthusiast and if you prefer one over the other, then go for it! It's why I love the watch game, so many different opinions, but at the end of the day, yours is the only one that should matter!

No

Trade it if you’re tired of it, but not for an overhyped POS.

It depends on your lifestyle and what else is in your collection.

As a one and done… I’ll trade it for the Daytona. But my style is very casual and I like tough watches but YMMV

No way!

But if the US goes to permanent DST, then maybe trade it if all the US cities will be off by 1 hour...

It might end up being an expensive Daytona. I wouldn't. The Daytona is a toy compared to that thing. Big boy pants buddy.
