I often buy watches and then trade them.
I never buy with the intent to sell.

My experience is, I seldom know a watch well enough to predict its future until I have it home and on my wrist. Along the journey there have been a couple of watches that only took a few hours to realize they weren’t right for me. Others may take a year before I accept it is not getting wrist time and realize it has to go.

I’ve gotten better but can still be surprised by a watch once it lands on my wrist.

if i bought a watch and sold it four years later for profit one time i don’t think i’m in the business of watches.

If i buy a house and sell it five years later for profit i don’t think anybody would think i’m a flipper but if i bought five houses in one year and refurbished them all and immediately put for sale signs up i think that’s more along the lines. Obviously just an opinion.

The client doesn't want the watch to wear it but, he may want it for his collection, or buys it just to maintain purchase history at the AD and sells the watch on sometimes making money sometimes losing money.
I used to do this all the time and the term 'Flip' was always used on this forum.
I've sold a few watches at a loss and I've sold a few at a profit , the watches are my property and I'll do what I like with them..

I think the term 'Professional Flipper' might be better for the people walking out of a dealers and selling them the same day

At last some logic. The term flipper will become as antiquated as the hay days of 2020/21 when this whole fanaticism is culled.

a flipper to me is simply one whose pure intent is to sell immediately for a profit.
i think if you hold for 6 months or more and you sell it could be for other reasons

nothing more upsetting than searching greys and seeing a description of the watch like new box and papers and only a month or so old

not that the person holding shorter may not be in a jam and needs to let go
