I’ve always wondered…..

Like classic/high end cars, or clothing or watches. How passionate can you be if getting a new one is just as easy as a new shirt or jeans for the “average” guy?

I work for Mercedes-Benz and deal with some high end clientele (many are just high net worth and others who are celebrities in the world of entertainment and sport, mainly football)

Most of them aren’t really bothered or interested in the history of AMG and Mercedes, they just want the G63 or the GT because it’s seen as a “Baller” car.

He is a big baller man.....he knows his watches inside out and has some extremely rare and expensive pieces.

Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Hart, Jay Z, Lebron James, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen DeGeneres are all watch connoisseurs. They all have superb collections.

Mark’s collection and seen wearing them everywhere is very well known. He has been into the watch game for a long time now and knows his stuff.

Nah. Underneath the celeb is a person. Some good. Some bad. Some happy. Some sad.

And some are interested in watches or get bored and surf just like the rest of us.

Imagine being a celebrity. At any moment you can get canceled for having an opinion, even if it’s not particularly controversial (media will twist anything)

Seems like it would make sense that many of them would want to post anon

OP - you’d have to define what a celebrity is before I could comment.

Is it whether you appear on national media?
Is a politician a celebrity?
Is it based on net worth? For instance is Warren Buffett a celebrity?
Is it only movie/tv actors and musicians?
Etc…

Good question.

Let's think about this a minute.

I guess it would be fair to say that we could define celebrity as one who is recognizable to the majority of the public domain. I think we can all agree that actors, whether movies stage or TV are going to be the top of this list, and of course international actors will be the most recognizable at that. There are famous directors and producers.

Sports figures will be equal to or a close second depending on how one holds their ranking; Musicians will of course be as big simply because, like actors, they are the most recognizable.

Well known authors, and US Radio personalities come to mind, as well as news corespondents.

We can't exclude Heads of State either. I think that is fair.

Who else?

We can always throw a current headliner in the mix as well, but depending on the headline, that fame might not be of good moral character, and we wouldn't want to raise that individual to a level commensurate with a gentleman the likes of Mark Wahlberg, for example.

Hope that helps.

And regardless of who you are... For those of you who are father's, Happy Father's Day.
