Awesome write you thanks padi! I know you don’t like YouTube but here’s a video with great photography and some chrono historical material. This video just came out today.

Fast-beat Vs Slow-beat Movements.

Can’t take this clickbait channel seriously when every video they post has “better than Rolex” in it’s caption. No wonder Padi doesn’t like this kind of trash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thank you Peter! I love coming to you your “classes”. As a younger watch enthusiast (early 30’s) it’s truly wonderful to read your posts and draw on your experience to learn where horology has come from and see the progress over the decades. Thank you!

Have to agree the majority of YouTube is nothing more than clickbait .

Thanks for the informative post. I had a Lange Datograph and it was a slow beat movement (I think) but had a large balance wheel. Combination of large balance wheel with slower beat movement; would this make it as accurate as hi beat but less wear than hi beat?

This was really interesting and a nice Sunday diversion. Are the high beat movements more a thing for chronographs or does it apply to all watches with more complications where accuracy might be an issue? Or just all movements in general, with the theory that it can be beneficial with trade offs.

Is there a forum glitch or is this OP the same text as threads from 2006, 2011, 2018, more?

Agree about the Airking great watches and one of the longest production runs in the Rolex lineup.

Sorry don't know much about that movement but all the Piguet movements through history have been great, but in reality there is no real bad movements any brand.
