The Beatles
I bought their record albums upon release, starting with Sgt. Pepper. They were pioneers and, like Bowie, they evolved.
Later, I did get into New Wave. Elvis Costello, The Smiths, Squeeze, Tears for Fears, English Beat, New Order, Depeche Mode, The Clash. |

Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, Camel, The Who... and of course Zep.
I guess Fleetwood Mac is originally British too. You didn't ask but North American favorites: Rush, Grateful Dead, Boston. Old Journey wasn't bad, either. I also loved Sammy Hagar-era Van Halen. Never liked DLR as a singer or a person.
