It's not finding the loo when it's cold that's the problem...

[QUOTE=jdc;1260426]Lets see pictures of the surrounding area where you live within a 20 minute drive. I live in Brighton UK.

I grew up in Brighton and Devils Dyke straight up Dykes Road from Preston Circus??????
I walk there for my 6 mile walk badge for the scouts to Devils Dyke. Instead of walikng 3 miles there and back I walked 6 miles and remember hitching back.

Nice part of the country and I would love to live in Brighton again.

Great pictures Peter. The Frank Gehry building is very interesting, there were plans to build some of his controversial buildings in Brighton but unfortunately the project fell through. Here is what it would have looked like.

A friend of mine had dinner Friday with a fellow from MIT's development office and the word is they are done with Starchitects......The picture below is of their $350,000 per bed!!! dorm by Stephen Holl.

Brighton, with it's Beau Nash heritage would have been great for Frankie G' but I wondered whether the development was a bit too big for the town economically and from a planning and urban design standpoint.

I've found it doesn't matter where home is, as long as there's a decent boozer!

I lived off Western Road, called Silwood Road, 2 street from Preston Street. It was very central and I used to walk to Churchill Square. I went to school in Hove, off the Old Shoreham Road. I don't visit Brighton much as it is too far and I should. Perhaps I will this summer.

This is the Bryn Athyn Cathedral in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on the periphery of Philadelphia and 5 minutes from my home. It was constructed in the early 1900s by the Pitcairn family, and because the architecture is so majestic, you will be hard-pressed to differentiate the cathedral from the two Pitcairn residences. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Cheers.

Is this cathedral being used? Have you been on the inside? Looks like a nice peaceful place!
