Remarkable comment Tim. This wasn’t “everyone” or “anyone.”

It was a Rolex employee. Hello?

Funnily enough, I just did this to my watch. Except after I licked it I wiped it on my wife beater.

You sure it was Rolex RSC? Sounds like something else.

So, what was on there? What did you do to try and remove it? Sounds like dried food which simple soap, water and soft brush would have removed. I like soapy fingers to clean a watch which loosens any dried residues.

LOL! Some folks gotta relax and enjoy these things, they're only watches.
If a fingernail can ruin a solid gold watch, maybe that watch ain't all its hyped up to be.

Bro the problem isn’t the RSC rep, it’s you. Chill out - your watch is crafted from metal lol

you should just wash your watch with soap and water once in a while... goes a long way to keeping "something" from being on your lug.

I think the fingernail is fine. Beverly Hills just did my Tiffany dial 16803 Submariner. Did a great job!
(It had the luminova hands before service. Someday I’ll change them back to tritium.)

I also find this RSC rep unacceptable, how could he not have spat on it first before trying with his fingernail? Spit should always be used first in situations like this!

At least the Rolex guy didn't put it in... water

Seriously, the real question is : did the fingernail scratch the watch ? If not (and I seriously doubt regarding the hardness of the two "materials", no worry.

This thread was clearly a first hand account metaphor for a massage parlour visit gone either very wrong or very right depending on the individual.
