Seems like it would be kinda like the Bamford Snoopy face Rolex's. Supreme zero interest in, but wish I had gotten one of those Bamford Snoopy Rolex's. Snoopy was my fav growing up. Snoopy is the only little dude that can make a Rolex even cooler for me

It will never happen. It’ll be a custom job, like it was before.

There is a big difference.
If custom, Rolex is no more involved in this than Nike was with the Satan Shoes.

Btw - Supreme has done this before:
https://hypebeast.com/2021/11/suprem...-for-sale-100k

the biggest difference is a collab one is under rolex warranty, whereas a custom one void its warranty.

Sorry guys, but do you honestly believe that Rolex would do an official collaboration with a company who has form for putting ‘F*** Em’ on their watch dials in the past?

Do you really think that gels with Rolex’s corporate image? Rolex know only too well that their brand is their single biggest asset, so there’s zero chance they’ll officially associate themselves with Supreme. Zero.

If Supreme make a custom dial (again) then that’s up to them. It’ll be just another Bamford style customisation job, that Supreme fans can get all gooey about. But it won’t be an official Rolex collaboration.

Why Supreme? If Rolex has a “profile” they’re aiming for, the Supreme crowd wouldn’t strike me as being “it”.

Why would Rolex care what the opinions of those on this forum think? It’s not like they wouldn’t be sold out in minutes ? It’s not going to stop anyone from wanting to buy other Rolex watches? For them there really isn’t a downside. I don’t agree with the decision but it’s purely out of my own view of Rolex.

Not saying that Rolex will collaborate with Supreme, but dual branded Tiffany and Rolex dials
Once existed - well Supreme is just another brand with cultural relevance in another decade.

I won’t claim to know the image that Rolex wants to cultivate, but in my opinion the image Rolex has now among a large segment of the population definitely complements Supreme well.

For the “old guys” (I’m quoting another poster who referred to himself rather than being prejorative) - Supreme is a luxury “street wear” brand. It started as a skater focuses brand, but there has been a fusion of urban fashion which in more recent years has been dubbed “street style.” Supreme items are extremely conspicuous with branding. Street wear is immensely popular in the under 30 crowd as is “conspicuous consumption,” which likely explains much of Supreme’s popularity. Among this same population there is also a large interest in hard to get items - limited edition sneakers which have secondary price markups that are crazy. For example, interviews of early Moonswatch purchasers indicated that many did nit necessarily have much watch enthusiasm, but they had enthusiasm for a fashion item that they knew would be a hard to get hype piece.

If you are further curious, there is a lot out there on sociology of “conspicuous consumption,” vs inconspcuous consumption, generational differences in taste, and impact of social
media. Also articles on websites like Hypebeast can be enlightening as to the current specific brands that are very popular. Rolex and PP are often up there with Supreme, Nike, and Balenciaga.

Yeah like that’s gonna happen. The old Men at rolex joining up with this kiddie brand. Hardly Comex, Tiffany or Oman royal family level. That would be worse than the Omega/Swatch joke. Rolex already got all kiddies recruited via social Media so they’re not gonna cheapen their brand with the old crowd.

Though I've seen Supreme around, I looked them up, as I know little about the brand in general. Part of their statement said, "a brand known for quality, style and authenticity". I laughed; it seems quite the opposite in reality. I've only known them to ride the coat tails of already successful quality products by slapping their name on them. That being the case, this makes total sense.

If this is true, as others have said, I see this as a Tiffany retail and Domino's corporate award kind of thing.

The difference is that, while Rolex may have been willing to share the dial space, it wasn't willing to share the spotlight. They were never advertised, nor sold, to promote the second brand. If anything, at the time, these would have been less desirable to the general public, and wouldn't have really impacted Rolex's image one way or the other. To my knowledge, none of these recognition pieces bore the name of a brand that played in the luxury goods sandbox in any way, shape, or form.

Well the thing is, there always could be a downside for Rolex at some point in the future. That’s always a risk whenever a company does a collaboration with another company - neither has any control over the future actions (or reputation) of the other. If it transpired in future that Supreme were making their T-shirts is Far East sweatshops with zero health and safety using child labour, Rolex would be forever associated with that. This is why brands with rock solid images don’t collaborate with many other companies very often.

Plus I’m pretty sure the highly conservative grey men at Rolex would not overlook Supreme’s profane and childish labelling on those poor butchered Submariners, which is the absolute antithesis of Rolex’s modus operandi. Rolex sponsor things like Formula One and Wimbledon, and have been involved with Comex and military units, not street wear.

Rolex would never agree to this collaboration in a million years; and if they have, then shame on them.

Despite evolving into a fashion item or "man jewelry" in the marketplace, Rolex advertises their products are worth high prices because they are painstakingly engineered and manufactured, and have the substance to survive a trip to the bottom of the ocean or climb up Mt. Everest while performing "superlatively".

Supreme slaps their logo on random junk and then sells it to collectors, some of whom may even be in on their joke. Collaborating with Supreme basically amounts to saying, "yeah, this is all just slick marketing to see how many suckers we can dupe".

Here are some Supreme products they have sold over the years. Feel free to look any of these up! Why would Rolex want to add their name to this ridiculous list?

Supreme Oreos
Supreme crowbars
Supreme bricks
Supreme toothpaste
Supreme toothpicks
Supreme baseball bats
Supreme whiffle ball bats
Supreme nunchucks
Supreme White Castle Hamburgers Shirts / hats/ shoes/ jackets
Supreme brown paper bags
Supreme folding chairs
Supreme shovels
Supreme axes
Supreme door mats
Supreme bicycle locks
Supreme bowling balls
Supreme measuring cups
Supreme ashtrays
Supreme measuring tapes

What is so stupid about the "Supreme" Submariner listed for $100k is, that since it is an aftermarket mod, it cannot be copyrighted.
Anyone could do the same mod, and it would be just as authentic. Supreme could not take anyone to court as a result.
It is a worthless variation.

Rolex has never collaborated with any of those brands you mentioned.

If Rolex needed a 'collab' , they would've collaborated with much more well-respected household names before Supreme. Supreme would be like #50 on their list of choices. A collaboration with Supreme would be a kiss of death for their image.

Collobration with a brand owned by VF Corp? LOL. Rolex would've worked with LVMH way before VF Corp. This is more like a counterfeit dial mod.
