I don’t disagree, but you’d better scratch AP and Patek off your list, too. FPJ, RM, etc. The instagrammers and crypto bros will probably move on, eventually, but not yet.

Honestly if you're in a shady area, I don't think the plain jane black submariner is any less likely to attract attention

Not really. No one knows what it is, looks like stainless steel, and the dial looks white from a distance.

Only people who are familiar with Rolex GMT variations know its value and even then its definitely a stealthy watch.

Saw a YG Daytona on bracelet the other day and that was pretty flashy. The Daytona stands out a bit more from the start with the screw down pushers. But that whole package in YG is very noticeable.

Of course I'm not saying the SS Sub is as flashy, but, if there are thieves around looking at everyone's wrists trying to score some money, yes.

Good point. I’d only buy one because that dial is amazing

Blingy without diamonds …

I’d say several YG DDs with Stella or stone dials (coral, lapis lazuli, bloodstone, etc.) would fit that bill, perhaps with tiger eye at the top of the list.

Anything in yellow or rose gold, as others have said, will get you noticed and possibly followed home. I’d imagine Subs, Pepsis and the Seadwellers too all call attention to themselves because of their iconic looks, though I suspect the same would be true of all the Seikos and Glycines (etc etc) that follow the same design patterns.

If you want to fly totally under the radar, Rolex probably isn’t the brand.

Yeah, I think if you're going to insist on wearing a blingy Rolex nowadays, it's best to use the follow mod in order to keep it secure:

Why so condescending? You’re literally dissing half of the Rolex lineup (as well as anyone who owns/likes these models).

Anything YM or RG from Rolex - the hue of the metal is obnoxiously loud.

yikes i guess anyone who owns a day date or datejust or any other watch deemed blingy just wants attention, apparently you're not allowed to be a watch enthusiast and wear/appreciate loud watches (or a rolex) anymore. and ofc you just had to slip in the fact that you no longer want to own a rolex yet again, like you do every week, because somehow that offends you

gatekeeping at its finest
