I'd take the bluesy. It is so much more versatile and dresses up and down with ease.

As a one only, I would definitely choose the 126613LB: sporty yet elegant, more than all SS but not as flashy as all YG. And the blue dial truly is mesmerizing.

I own both a 116610LN and 116613LB and if I had to pick only one I would probably go with the 116610LN for reasons previously mentioned. As much as I love the blue and gold, it is an attention grabber and I currently prefer to stay more under the radar given the current state of affairs with watch robberies, etc. Also, the SS will experience less wear over time. The gold links are scratch magnets.

So for me the sub due to all SS and black dial is more versatile and looks at home in swim trunks or a sport jacket. The Sub is a sports watch and my brother owned the blue two-tone and its a very blingy and for me, not really inline with what a sport watch is and should be. The sub was always black and the PM added later and so for me its more of an homage to the sub. Kind of like you have the speedy pro, and them many LE's that are gold, or different colors, and have snoopy on the dial, but they are not the real deal.

I could go with but would lean towards the black as a one only. Would not agree with OP that the blue dial is more attractive. I think the black is equally elegant and attractive.

If I could only own 1 watch, it would be my Black Submariner (a real Submariner, not a Submariner Date) …

but, my 126613LB is my favorite watch in my collection.

Black Sub I can wear everyday, to almost any occasion … Bluesy is the most beautiful watch I own / the most fun to wear.

Gold and Blue 16613. (2009 and before) The Blue starts to turn slightly violet as it ages. The newer versions don't seem to have that unique characteristic. Time will tell.

I've got both, and rarely wear my black sub. I find it very boring if I'm honest. There's something about the bluesy in the flesh that is just stunning. Good luck with your choice

Tough call especially when it’s blue vs blue, but I’ll take the bluesy

If it’s my only Sub within a collection I’m taking the LB.

As an only watch, the LN might be the best in the biz.

Choosing one Rolex SubDate or Sub from the different configurations is a challenge.

Neither really, as I´ve never cared for the Sub date cyclops. My 14060 is my "watch to hold" or watch for life, and has been for more than 26 years...

You'd have to be 1) insane, 2) a used car salesman, or 3) unable to get a black sub to preference a TT over SS.

Only one Submariner for life, 126610 Date or 126613LB Bluesy ?

Or 4, you really are yourself and choose what you like for example mentioned TT sub.

Following the consensus and pick the (risk-free) SS is the safest choice.

I sold my 116610LN recently after 5 years of ownership and kept the TT. So I must be -in your eyes- option 1 because 2 and 3 doesn’t fit the bill.

I picked the LB because my jaw dropped at the AD. I was kind of shaken and had to gather my thoughts for a minute. The Bluesy is unique, has a very strong personality, the dial is to die for.

The 126610 looks good though, I could add a ND Sub 124060 down the road. No bad choice, go with your gut feeling when trying them on.

If that’s your only Rolex for life I think you’ll get tired of that Blue.
