Daytona 116519 Oysterflex “fins” removal

My Daytona is fit with proper size Oysterflex but I keep thinking it’d be more comfortable for what I’m accustomed to without the bellows/fins underneath. Reason being, I like to wear watches with room for sliding slightly on wrist. I can accomplish the fit by wearing looser, but the fins sort of grab on if that makes sense.

Anyhow, I’m tempted to remove them (razor?) but thinking that’d be a bad idea. Knowing me, I’d butcher it.

Question, has anyone removed and how did it go? And perhaps an alternative like Everest strap is a better option to try “no fins” setup. Or any other recommended strap options.

Any thoughts?
