I almost never use the glidelock. I actually find the easylink more practical, you don't even need to take the watch off to pull the extension.
My problem with the glidelock is the massive clasp that comes with it, compared to the smaller one with the easylink. For what I personally need, the glidelock is overkill. I hope Rolex dont start offering it with all their sports watches. |

Why not Glidelock on every model?
Guess is because Rolex market that feature for water sport models only. Think the only other model has it is the YM (smaller version, below) which is also marketed for water (sailing) as well

I feel that the standard glidelock found on the submariner and SeaDwellers is fairly proportionate to the rest of the watch in those cases. If they used the mini glidelock for Explorers, GMTs etc., as found on the YM oystereflex bracelet, I think it’d be perfect. I’m going to reach out to a member here to see if he’s ever done it |

Glidelock is nice for the 2 or 3 times I adjust it during the year. Better than the 5 series toothpick technique.
As for why it's only on divers, I guess it's the same thing as with the type of crown: differentiation. |

GMTs aren’t a “sports” watch. They are for pilots, travelers and people who do business across different time zones. No one is wearing a GMT over the sleeve of a suit ( I hope!). That said, I agree with the OP that a glidelock is a superior feature and I would definitely appreciate some approximation of it on every watch |

Thank you, that’s the one and far smaller than the glidelock on a Sub

I'm a huge fan. I've purchased two 97200 bracelets for two of my 5-digit watches. I don't much care about the size of the clasp. they are fantastic. I live in vermont and north carolina. As you can imagine, the temperature differences are large. I use my glidelocks and easylinks all the time.

For me it’s too long and ugly. I sold both watches with Glidelock. I just set a watch a bit loose in the winter and never touch again. Differs by person I guess.

Perhaps I'm unique too, but I'm with OP 100%. I live in Florida where we swap from A/C to 90+ degree weather in the summer and Heat to 50 degree weather in the winter. My wrists expand and contract a lot and I find myself only wearing my Sub and 300M since they both have glide lock adjustments. My other watches have the 3 pin adjuster, but it's just not as easy.
I had one butterfly bracelet watch, and will never have another since the only way to adjust is by adding/removing a link. No bueno. |

I never use the 2mm adjustment functionality of the Glidelock. I am very much a "set it and forget" it wearer. I get it where I want it (if I'm in between links I always set it on the tighter of the two) and forget about it. I hate my watch flopping around so I always lean towards a tighter fit.
I can't be bothered with adjusting it multiple times a day depending on what my wrist is doing. I only use the Glidelock when I put the watch over a wetsuit.

This is one time I'm going to tell you you're absolutely right, my friend.
Actually, I think the mini-glide lock that's on the OF line (sans Daytona, ofc) would be just the ticket. Also- a little curious about the half-link comment. So there is a half-link option for the GMT? Both jubilee and oyster? Interesting... |

You could do what I did. Find a 97200 bracelet and put it on your GMT. You get that touch of color from the GMT, and the glidelock from the sub. No polished center links though.

The Clasp on the 116610 is satin finished.... you would have to polish it to look right. Plus I have not seen the clasp sold individually either; I have always seen the glidelock clasp attached to the 97200 bracelet (that comes on the 116610 sub). I purchased a brand new 97200 bracelet (it comes with the glidelock clasp) from a grey dealer and never looked back.

I like the ez link because the bracelet is not as thick. With the glidelock it will make the bracelet latch part a lot thicker and I don't want that.

I'm frequently adjusting steel bracelets, so glidelock is must for me. I passed on a GMT Bec of the lack of a glidelock.

I'm hoping if and when my call comes for a BLNR it will have been updated to include glidelock. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Glidelock for me has been a blessing. I'm in a climate that gets hot and sticky in the summer and when I am doing stuff outside my wrist swells.
If I ever got a GMT, the first thing I would do is track down a bracelet with a Glidelock clasp for it. They could at least offer a brushed bracelet with a Glidelock clasp as an upgraded option for it!!! |

I am with OP, I love the glidelock. I have a 116610 Sub and and a BLRO. I want to do the swap for my BLRO. It I need to find a good bracelet replacement for my Sub.

Agreed! Spoiled with the glidelocks on the Sub and DSSD. I too struggled with the Oyster on my GMTs. I would add a link, move in the clasp adj. A few weeks later, I'd drop a link and move the clasp adj out.. I'm now at a spot where it fits perfect, however the 5mm adj is always out. AD recommended a 1/2 link. Look like I'll be going that route as well.
