I doubt anyone can recognize a TT explorer from more than 2 feet away

That is a good way of looking at the problem.

I wouldn’t over think it. Sounds like you like you TT.

To soften it a little, try throwing it on a brown leather strap. I think it would look fantastic.

I live in SF and own the SS Explorer. It is the only Rolex I fell comfortable wearing walking the city. I don't think I'd have an issue with two-tone. I agree it is quite dangerous to wear a nice watch in SF nowadays but don't think a two-tone Explorer would be that noticeable. If you really aren't comfortable then I say just go with the SS version.

Go with the SS version, it seems that is what you wanted initially. I love mine and wear it as my “under the radar” watch.

Wear your watches and don’t mind what other people think, most people won’t even notice what you wear…..hope this helps.

My viewpoint exactly. It seems like you already prefer the SS and going for what you prefer shouldn't be referred to as a downgrade.

Agree. I would not wear a TT Explorer. I consider the SS an upgrade.

Even though it may not look like it price wise, I'd consider that an upgrade. Far prefer the Exp in all SS.

I go back and forth, currently I think I will keep it for a long time, but just curious if anyone has trade it in for a SS version just so it's more versatile?
Trade it. Gold on an Explorer is completely out of place.

Trade for the SS Explorer, if that will give you some peace of mind.
Or insure the watch and don't worry about it.
Or seek some counseling on this issue (not a criticism, but just to give you some peace of mind.) Or perhaps even consider self defense classes. (Again, just to give you some inner strength and peace of mind, so you can wear the watch you want to wear).

i'll keep my thoughts on SS vs TT to myself.
OP: you're assuming that thieves are less likely to steal your SS watch than your TT watch. That is an incorrect assumption, imo. At best, it's a false sense of security.

lol. that did make me laugh. I guess you could say the same thing about seeking psychological counseling. So why are you here today mister? Divorce? Death in the family? Lost your job? No, I want to wear a two tone!
