I have a black bezel GMT, sometimes I think it's a bit plain. Depends on the lighting.

I think I'd rather see an all-blue or all-green bezel GMT (using the same shade of blue as the BLNR or same shade of green as the VTNR), just to add some colour as I'm not entirely convinced by bi-colour bezels (but the BLRO does work well).

Yes, please.

Know what else I want? A two-tone w/ Everose and a black bezel.

Point taken, unless you have no use for the sub's 300 meter WR and refer to GMT several times a day.

I'd rather see a coke. I like the 116710LN and think it covers the black ceramic bezel GMT slot.

This ^. I said on here the other day that I always wished the 116710LN had been given the red 24 hour hand instead of the green when it was released all those years ago.

Appreciate the black bezel but don't yearn for it. The essence of the GMT to me is multi-colored bezel--sporty, historic, easy to differentiate day from night at a glance. My BLRO has an attitude and screams aviation which is what my life has been all about. BLNR also but more subtly. Black and red bezel GMT on brushed Oyster bracelet with glidelock would be amazing--even better at 41mm!

The 16710LN was my first Rolex 20 years ago. I chose it over the Sub as it had the extra feature of 24 hour hand and still had many of the aesthetics of the Sub. I have a faded black bezel insert and it looks amazing, I have bought a jubilee bracelet and the Pepsi and Coke Bezels so the watch is now my most versatile piece.

Do you want to see a black bezel GMT?

I don’t dislike the black bezel GMT, but I definitely prefer the BLNR or BLRO.

I read on this forum that it’s possible to replace the 126710 bracelet (either an Oyster with PCLs or a Jubilee) with the fully brushed Oyster bracelet with the Glidelock feature from a Sub. I am planning this modification soon and will post about it when I do, but this might be a great mod for you.

Awesome watch and you have the entire ideal collection, well done. I am excited to collect Black and Coke bezels and an additional bracelet to have the same set up with my 16750. This model might be the most versatile Rolex ever made.

For sure they need to bring back the Black GMT!

In fact, I think the black bezel GMT is a far more logical "default" Rolex than the Submariner. It's a better first Rolex, a better only Rolex.

When I bought my first Rolex I agonized over which to choose, a black Sub or black GMT. I went with the GMT.

Why?
  • The majority of Sub owners are not using their 300m water resistance. The 100m of the GMT is more than enough for how we all use these watches day to day (or even on vacation)
  • The GMT bezel can still be used as a timer (using the top arrow)
  • The bi-directional bezel is more practical for day-to-day use. Moving the timer forward and back easily. (no, you're probably not going to bump the bezel and lose your time sitting at your desk or in the car)
  • You get an additional function over the Sub - a second time zone!
  • The GMT offers a subtle, yet welcomed contrast of color with the GMT hand and dial text
  • The PCL's allow the GMT to be a bit more "dressed up" than a brushed Sub (no one else notices your scratched PCL's, embrace them)

I would like those micro-adjustments in the clasp though

Yes. Currently on the hunt for a black insert to snap into the old 16710.

I absolutely love the black dial GMT, but I don’t think they’ll bring it back any time soon. Feels like Rolex is trying to make the Submariner and GMT lines distinctly different. PCL’s or jubilee with a bi-colored bezel for GMT’s and brushed oyster monochromatic bezels for Subs.

Anywhere here’s some pics of my old GMT.

The LN is long overdue as those that travel will find it just as appealing as those who dive find the black Sub timeless. There is enough color in the GMT line to easily support a new LN GMT for those that don’t like color on their watch.

I guess that it looked so much like a Sub, so they thought that to further differentiate it they only use the two color bezels. I understand that. I have a Sub and a Batman so I wouldn’t but the all black bezel gmt.

Still, I agree it was a beautiful reference.

I think one with a brushed finish and a mini-Glidelock would be awesome, but that would probably encroach too much on the Submariner.

Now that I have the full line of colored GMT's in my possession they can make them all black as far as I am concerned.

I think they should at least give the option. It looked great. They certainly gave the option in the aluminum era of the past
