I’m a little biased but the RG YM has been on my list since the 116655 came out. I was waiting for 10 months with my AD but finally went through MODA and got one last summer. My AD understood and even swapped out the OF pieces to the correct size for me. Flash forward to last week and he asked if my wife wanted a match. She normally only wears a TT datejust but the 37mm hasn’t left her wrist.

As for daily wear they are doing quite well but the glide lock is going to pick up some scratches. It is inevitable but the watch is damn near perfect imo.

I dint recommend RG or YG for daily wear. I love wearing my Smurf, WG Daytona Blue or DD WG Olive daily.

Beautiful pieces. Your pictures would also seem to confirm a lot of what I have read/heard, that the RG YM can look lighter or even white in certain lights. Definitely gives it a +1 for the low-key factor.

Have never tried on a Daytona, but assume it has your confidence for handling daily wear and tear just fine? No worries about the extra access points for water with the pushers?

Definitely dig the GMT look, but since I already have the 16710, I'm looking to branch out a bit.

But you and everyone else have piqued my interest in the Daytona. Though price does start to become an issue there... my wife is thankfully supportive of my watch pursuits, but I presume a limit does exist!

RGYM40 definitely fits the bill.
I love mine. Has a little bit of flash, but is still pretty under the radar. Has the date and timing bezel.
Great sports piece imo

Edit add:
I’ve done all those activities in the YM and I have 3 young kids (4 month, 3, and 5) it’s perfect for all of that. Never really feels out of place

personally if i'm getting my first, or only, PM piece i'd want it to look the part. since you want rubber you really only have 2 options so i'd go with the daytona

to me the YM is a really nice watch but it's too toned down and feels like it defeats the purpose of being the only gold watch in a collection. with the daytona, you have gold end links and more dial choices giving you more of the gold aesthetic

A 515 would be a good choice. I’ve been wearing mine for about a week straight and you can do anything you want wearing it. Also looks great with a suit or sweats.

Wearing PM as a daily is what I do and many many others here on TRF. Just understand once you go PM either on OF or bracelet its gonna be hard to wear anything else. A lot of posters in this very thread have some serious PM collections because of that very thing.
This is so true.... was lucky to get a RG Daytona on OF, and the bug had bitten! Then traded my steel 116520 for the WG Sub which is now my favorite piece! It's stealthy and hefty and glorious!Name: Screenshot_20230130_211034_Gallery.jpg

Love the pics, guys. Question for either of you... what's your wrist size? The Sub is a classic and the blue PM is a killer option. Only worry is about the super-case Sub looking too big on my 6.75" wrist and slim/athletic frame.

I would go with the WG OF daytona with steel dial (think that's what it's called). That said the RG sundust OF is really nice and understated too. Looks much better in real life. Good luck on your PM journey.

Stunner. If I ever decided to part with the 16710, that is the direction I'd go. If I could find one for a decent price haha.....

Background… My wrist is flat, usually around 6.75”. Currently have a PP 5117 (YG) for formal situations and a Pepsi 16710 for work. Considering adding a few more pieces to round out my rotation.

Looking to get a PM daily - something with character, but that also flies a little under the radar. Most importantly, something on rubber that can handle swims, tennis, errands, and chasing kids (and the impromptu drinks or lunch).

Weighing between the RG YM40 Oysterflex (116655 or 126655) and the RG Omega Seamaster AT (220.52.41.21.03.001).

Hit me with some feedback on your choices or alternatives!
The 116619/126 would be my choice.

Like you Anthony!

Rolex makes some great PM watches. Many to choose from no wrong choices.
Here are a few of my favorite gold pieces. I’d have no problem wearing either daily.

Just because more pics more better! My vote is 125566 but I'm biased 😜 I love Daytonas on bracelet but the flatness of the OF strap version didn't feel great on my small wrist. The YM is a stunner, feels great and sizes well while still letting you know it is solid gold. (My 17600 case is slightly smaller than the 17610 but the three together make for a fun size comparison!)
