How do you find the legibility of the white dial? Would love to add a couple white dials to my collection and I know the white dial is easier to get than the blue but I was worried about legibility.

Beyond the hype the white dial is my favorite. Easy to read and color neutral so it goes with everything. I have just purchased a Jubilee Bracelet for the white dial and the black dial versions. I have another on order for the blue dial. I could just swap them around but the blue gets the least wear of my three SS Sky-Dwellers, so it can wait. The Sky-Dweller is my favorite model right now from Rolex and I like the look, wear and function of the watch.

Call me when they have a bigger, left handed SD.

Weird people think this.

The GMT wears bigger than most believe. Might be its big font on the bezel and the all the polished parts that help enhance the size.

Most people wearing the GMT look like the watch is wearing them.

My AD has an exhibition LHD… the crown on the other side isn’t bad, but the date on the other side is really hard to look at. I’d take the SkyD over any SS GMT, but have zero interest in the LHD, which I will now refer to as the Frankenstein.

The VTNR, nothing as fun and stylish to compete with it. Fantastic watch.

The white dial is legible. I prefer the contrast of RG or YG hands and indices against the white dial but that's just a personal preference. One thing the white dial (and the blue) do offer over the black dial is a better differentiation of the GMT disk and the dial. The disk is a different shade of white (or blue) whereas the black disk doesn't stand out so well and can be difficult to read at a glance.

LHD GMT or Steel Sky-Dweller

I love the sky dweller reference.

I’ve got poor eyesight so if judged purely on terms of legibility, the GMT is much easier to read at a glance.

I own an SS black dial SD.

The GMT wears a lot smaller & is a lot lighter than the sky dweller too.

If you’ve no need for the annual calendar function and you’re a klutz like myself, then the GMT is probably a better choice. It stands up better to a beating than the SD.

I’ve owned the SD for just over half a year and I’ve already accumulated several dents on the fluted bezel. You can’t see the dents unless you look closely though but they’re there.

I second this.

The white dial is much more legible for bespectacled old dudes like me.

Tempted to trade my black dial for a white.
