I found a photo of the underside of a so called 1655 bezel (not the one in the auction). Does this look correct?

Tough to tell with just a scan and naked eye

But this underside doesn't appear to have the pronounced circular etchings similar to the fakee I unwittingly bought on the bay. That said, I still think the photo that most closely resembles the auctioned bezel here is the yuki example posted by Dave. Don't see any discernible differences betwixt them. If the yuki bezel is authentic...

So this bezel is now for sale on the bay?!

This seller's grammar and story frighteningly similar to the one for the subject of this threat. Strange. Also strikes me as very odd that both bezel descriptions included "stainless steel" or "ss"....as if there were any other 1655 bezel material...these are the only 2 times I've seen a 1655 bezel advertised with that description.

O.K. here's a rear view shot of the 1655 bezel that just went for a ridiculous sum on e-scam:

It looks pretty well machined to me, a kind of professional finish that one might expect for a genuine article.

That's a very personal question

I might have placed a bid, but whether I become the ACTUAL purchaser is yet to be seen

the bezel in the last auction is unfortunately a fake I believe..I have a couple different 1655 bezels in my hand right now and both have a crisp flat top edge along the inside of the back of the bezel..the one in that pic appears to have a slightly beveled edge..
now the original one is very hard to tell by the photo provided..
