I told Shelby at Rolex that my SA was telling me it wasn’t an option at the time and she said “tell him you talked to me and authorized it have him call me if there is an issue.” So I talked to my SA and he obviously talked to her because he placed the order. So I suggest talk to Rolex and make sure you get the name of the person on the line authorizing the purchase in case you do want your SA to get it for you.
Thank you for detailing all this.

Great point, thanks.

I am located in Southeast Asia and have a 126710BLRO with Jubilee bracelet, I've been inquiring my local RSC periodically to see if I could purchase a separate Oyster bracelet since 2020 to no avail; the last time I visited was around February 2023 and still no go.

Last december (2022) I receive the call from my AD here in my country for the GMT BLNR. Months ago when I manifested to AD my interest on the GMT BLNR, my choice was the Oyster bracelet. When they called me , they offered a GMT BLNR but with Jubilee bracelet, and I couldnt deny considering the difficult to get a GMT nowadays, so I bought it, despite my preference on the Oyster bracelet.
When I collected the watch, I asked about buying an Oyster bracelet, and they said this is impossible nowadays. Didnt try RSC here.

There’s a lot of misinformation (including from ADs) about the process. Some ADs told me they couldn’t order a bracelet until my watch was more than 5 years old, and some said it would be available only on an exchange basis (I’d lose the oyster).

I spoke to RSC directly and they were very helpful and clear. £1750 for the jubilee. I keep both bracelets. They have to fit the new bracelet to the watch on their premises, and they hold the watch while the order is fulfilled (should the bracelet not be in stock).

RSC said ADs can order the bracelet for me, and wouldn’t have to hold my watch, but given the inconsistent information the ADs were providing I decided to cut out the middle man.

I highly recommend contacting your local RSC either in person, on the phone, or via email.
This is what the RSC in Australia told me as well in regards to getting an oyster for my Skyd. $2500AUD

By the way, just as a curiosity, when I collected the watch, they even didnt let me get the sticks out of the watch. The woman (SA) took out the sticks in front of me, and put the watch and the sticks above a specific paper and took several pictures of this and send to rolex when registering the warranty card with a cell phone. I couldnt get the watch with the sticks. Probably a new policy from Rolex.

Hey there wewu1688!

Hope all is well! I would appreciate if you could shed some light on the situation I am going through.

I just received my blro on oyster through my AD in NYC yesterday. I have always wanted a jubilee bracelet on the blro so I requested the AD to order one for me. The AD's response was that the new policy restricts owners from exchanging/ swapping/ purchasing jubilee bracelets.

Called and went to RSC in NYC today and was told the same thing. May I know if you managed to get your hands on an official jubilee bracelet for your BLNR?

If so, how did you manage to do it?

Thank you very much in advance and looking forward to hearing back from you!

Checked in London UK today at Rolex St. James's and NO you CANNOT buy it from Rolex anymore. Only if the watch originally came on that bracelet. The current price is £1750.02 at Rolex.

What if your late father had left you just the head of a watch without its original Jubilee bracelet?

In this situation I'd be outraged if the RSC didn't agree to supply a bracelet to make the watch whole.

This situation will now be tested by 10,000 bereaved children...

9,999 Jubilee bracelets will soon be for sale at an inflated price.

It’s almost a philosophical question what would happen if you go to the AD/RCF with just the watch head and ask to add a bracelet? Have a hard time seeing that wouldn’t be allowed.

Through first-hand experience, there is no policy on the process of buying a bracelet.

One year ago, I called my local RSC directly and was told exchanges or purchases were not allowed (2018 BLRO). It was an absolute NO. I then called RSC NY, and was told the same thing. Days later, a member posted that he was able to purchase an oyster from an AD that happened to be local to me within the past week. I called that AD, was told no. One week later, an AD with whom I've bought plenty from over the years, proactively reached out and told me I could outright buy an oyster, no exchange, and they would ship it to me directly. Moments after the call, I called both my local RSC and RSC NY again, and both were still saying no purchases allowed.

If you want a spare bracelet, just bounce calls between ADs and RSC. No one seems to know anything, so better to be persistent than anything else.

Espanol is likely correct. It’s a large network of disconnected and largely independent dealers- a yes or no by ‘policy’ seems unlikely given the various success rates we read about. I would imagine each person’s experience is more about general availability and the individual associate knowing how to work the system.

Thanks, merely sharing my anecdotal experience.

What was crystal clear during this whole process was that no one knew anything.

If you want a jubilee or oyster bracelet, just call around all local ADs, and call RSCs periodically. Don't rely on what you're told about 'policy,' as there is none. Someone, somewhere, will eventually place the order.

I think there have been some misunderstandings and (non-deliberate) misinformation in this thread.

I went to the bottom of this question a while back (some of you might remember from other threads on the subject) when several members appeared unable to order from their respective POS, while I had no problem obtaining mine. At that point in time there were 2 issues:

A specific configuration had to be available for >12 months before the option to order it became available for the dealers. I.e. when the oyster version came, previous jubilee version owners couldn't order the oyster until it had been out for 12 months. This meant that people buyting the watch on oyster could add the jubilee (since that config had been avialable before) but owners that had bought the watch on jubilee could not add the oyster, only option was exchenge, i.e. return your jubilee in exchange for an oyster, during the first 12m the oyster version was avaiable.

Up until this summer this have been the case, me and multiple others have added the bracelet our watches was not delivered on. Some ADs kept saying it couldnt be done but doing some nagging and/or calling around it always worked out in the end.

However as of this summer, policy from the crowned changed and the current situation is that only exchange is available. Some POS might still have stock that they have ordered before the policy change, which you can buy but they cannot, any longer, order the add on bracelet.

This has been confirmed by 3 differenct ADs across Europe as well as RSC in London and NYC.

If anyone have conflicting information i.e. actually being able to order a bracelet that was not in stock at the POS, I'd be very interesting in getting some details on that specific procedure.

Thanks

My AD is Tourneau, which Rolex of course owns now. Literally 5 minutes ago the told me no, per Rolex instruction they can no longer accept orders for a jubilee bracelet.

Did anyone have any luck in ordering jubilee for Sky Dweller from RSC? I'm visiting Dallas around Thanksgiving time and was wondering if I could just walk in and get a jubilee bracelet from them?

Also, does purchasing from the grey market have any impact on the purchase? Like, could they say no to grey purchases?

FWIW, a few days ago, I reached out to an AD to order an oyster bracelet for my BLNR purchased from that AD (on jubilee). I was told that Rolex has put a “pause” on ordering bracelets because they were “overwhelmed with orders”. He told me they are not sure when, or if, the option to purchase a an additional bracelet will be available again.

I recently purchased a Skydweller on oyster and added a jubilee from RSC (kept both bracelets).

I tried to do the same for my mint motif DJ41 and was told replacement only (i.e. I can't keep both bracelets). I went ahead and swapped oyster for the jubilee because I prefer it on the DJ.

I did note that when dealing with RSC, they were transparent and helpful. On the other hand, my AD had no idea what was going on. Initially told me it couldn't be done, and then told me it can only be done if I service my brand new watch. That's when I called RSC and sorted it out directly with them.

Your money, your decision. But I don't understand how it makes any economic sense to voluntarily give RSC back a product you paid for (oyster) for free, and then pay for another comparable product right after. Essentially paying double for a singular product, through the company's channels.

I purchased a Pepsi 126710BLRO on Jubilee in March 2023 from an AD. In July 2023, I bought an Oyster bracelet from RSC NY. Was super easy, they check/scan your ID at the door, asked me a few polite questions on why I want the Oyster bracelet, and, I'm sure verified ownership when they took the watch to the backroom. They installed the bracelet on the spot, and let me keep my jubilee bracelet. One comment that the customer service rep made is that I got the last in-stock Oyster bracelet, and they needed to order more.

Here in Switzerland I was able to just walk into a bucherer and buy an oyster band for my jubilee Pepsi. Not even bought the watch there. including putting it on the watch immediately. They just wanted to see the watch to make sure I own one. And of course I kept the jubilee band

I was told by my AD that the pause is to have more available for watches they’re producing. He said pausing selling the bracelets alone increased GMT watches being delivered significantly and that they had noticed an increase in watches coming in since the pause. Makes sense to me but who knows if it’s true.

I didn't do it for financial sense, just did it because I prefer the watch that way and was willing to pay for it.

I agree that financially, it doesn't make sense. Although one could argue that the money lost is recouped in increased value of the watch as the jubilee versions usually sell for more - but that would require me to sell the watch and I don't intend to do that.

If anyone hears Rolex changing their policy I'd appreciate a heads up. Have the Batman and would like the jubilee option as well.
