No more cases for repair then?

So if all the cases are gone what happens in the event of a rolex client needing a replacement case in the event of damage? Surely they must keep some for the parts bin.

Thats actually a really good question... Maybe "new" and replacements are two different groups...

Seadweller is a great watch, love the writing on the back of the case. I bet they will hold their value well in the coming years.

I have always liked its no-cyclops date - so its slightly sad/disappointing news.

The SD is a true icon, it will be missed. I still can't figure out what Rolex was thinking by stopping production of such a great watch for the SDDS which has a very small following.

I'm definitely not an expert, but based on some 'For Sale' ads I've seen for watches with replacement cases, replacement cases have a different serial prefix than the standard, or possibly a marking after the serial, which indicates it is a replacement case, and not the original.

I'm sure somebody w/ more knowledge will fill in the blanks, or correct me if I'm wrong.

I am finding that when dealing with any USA issues, each case is considered on an individual basis. It is at their discretion on who they service and why they will provide service.

I just purchased a used SD from my AD that just got a full service from RSC and was happy to pay $4,500. I could not find another from a trusted source for less. A few years ago this watch would have been 3k. I use to think it was a big watch No it's small

Honestly doubtful! Too many of them on the market to appreciate anytime soon.

Thank you Seadweller --- You are the only Rolex not bastardized by Rolex and by the time they think of messing with you, you will be below water ..... infact, you have already start your descent, like the titanic ...dwelling at the bottom, and no one will be able to mess with you .....

Glad to have bought the Sea Dweller - couldn't find it at any AD in HK - except one, which has Rolex ADs all over the place - either they are hoarding it or it really has gone 4000 ft under...

Rolex Sea Dweller M - for the seas
Breitling Airwolf - for the skies
Swatch Irony - for ol' times sake and great memories; saw me through many tests and exams in college and life and my first job

I love the SD. Got one for my wife a couple of months ago. Thought maybe, just maybe she'd get tired of it, go back to her little watches and it would become mine. No dice. She wears it every day and says its her most favorite watch she has ever owned. Looks really great on her as well. Other women compliment her on it all the time.

I was very surprised to see one in the case last night at my local AD right next to DSSD...
