Beautiful watch…..whatever you do, do not get the case polished. the value drops as soon as you buff it to make it look “new”.

Watch is ready

I have the watch back now. I think it looks great. I cannot wait to wear it.
I got a second hand from tseisst in Germany, so no duty to Ireland. The man there was very helpfull and I would recommend him. It cost me €325 including delivery.
I got it serviced and the hand put on by an ex Rolex watch maker who has his own business now in Kilkenny, Ireland. It took about 6 weeks and was €360 which was very reasonable.
I got the strap and travel case from Bulang and Sons in the Netherlands. They had a good selection of good quality accessories. I thought the tan strip matched the patina.
I should have done this years ago and wished my Dad had got to use it in the end. It is a shame it sat in a drawer for the best part of 40 years. But at least it is done now and it will remind me of him. He would be happy to know it was being used again.
If anyone has any questions about any of the people I used, feel free to send me a PM. Thanks for all the advice.
