Seems like there will be an Explorer for everyone now with all the variations. I like my 39mm Mk II and feel the size is about right for my wrist. Also prefer the matte black dial over a glossy one on this particular model. The 70 hour reserve would be nice. It will be interesting to see the new 40mm and 39mm Mk II side by side (a recent Hodinkee report felt the 1 mm increase "looks substantially larger than the 39mm model"). The Explorer has a place in everyone's collection!

I got rid of almost every other Rolex and non-Rolex watch I owned and stick with the 39mm Explorer I plus a backup GS Quartz watch.
I might look at the new 40mm version as I wouldn't mind the longer power reserve but it isn't that critical. |

I can see how the 39 would be great for many people but for me 36mm is my sweet spot and my Exp 1 is one of my favorite watches.

And I'd have to get off the couch or Google it to even know where the EXPLORER text is on my 39mm MKII. It either looks right or doesn't, and we all have our individual taste. I am not immune by any stretch...wouldn't buy a 40mm Sub and couldn't wait to get my 41mm Sub. Haven't liked the SS Daytona since it changed to ceramic, now I want the new black dial in the worst way. Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk |

A very nice GADA piece. Hard to beat.

This 39mm Mk2 has quickly become one of, if not my favorite, SS Rolex watches of all time.

39 looks really great IMO, I love the way explorer is placed on the bottom.
