I don’t own a company, nor do the daily grind since I’m retired. But always wore my Platona to the track as an official. Before that also wore a variety of Daytona’s.

The drivers sometimes noticed because they were Daytona-aware. Never a problem except once - many years ago - when I destroyed the bezel on an SS Daytona during a tech inspection

So there is that risk

I've never had anyone notice my watches at work. If you bought it to wear then you might as well do so. Enjoy it.

As long as you enjoy it who cares what any anyone else thinks. With that being said be aware that people do judge you for what you have, right or wrong.

Agreed. Most people don’t even notice watches and only WIS know exactly what it is and will enjoy seeing it, no matter the context. If they are my employees, they know that I’m successful and see “fancy watch” and expect if just as they expect to see a nice vehicle.

Those that care have embraced the drive to succeed and left us to start their own businesses. They remain friends and people, that I mentor. I feel that that the success of these folks are the best measure of our company culture, even though they left.

Most people are so concerned with their own issues that they don’t notice what you are doing, anyway.

That is a statement you can not make with any certainty.

I may as well wear a rainbow Daytona with how my coworkers think a SS Rolex screams I’m rich or something.

It really doesn’t matter, people will always talk whether you are living modestly or affluent. Just do what makes you happy.

I’d wear any watch I feel like on that particular day. Can’t be worried about everyone else.

On Fridays I’ll wear a YG DD. I don’t care what people think in general, but definitely see patients notice the yellow gold more than the SS Sub. As a result, the DD is more of a weekend watch.

Me: 12 years old (worried that I didn’t wear the trendy clothes my friends had)
My Dad: Son, if you go through life worrying about what other people think of you or what you wear, you’re going to be pretty miserable.
Me: Life lesson I’ve never forgotten. I miss him. He was such a sage. And he introduced me to watches and love of horology when I was 10 at Bucherer in Geneva.

If you're popular and well-liked by everyone, the watch you wear doesn't matter. If you walk around the office with a superiority complex and treat people like peons, then it's probably not a good idea to wear a solid gold Rolex.

Spot on mate, couldn't agree more. If you behave like a twat then people will begrudge you everything. If you treat everyone with respect and show some humility you don't get that reaction no matter which watch you wear or car you drive etc

The watch you wear if acting that way doesn’t matter.

Hi,

I'd say if you're comfortable wearing any particular watch, and you want to wear it, then go ahead. From my mid-20s my daily wearer was a yellow gold Day-Date which was on my wrist pretty much 24/7 for about six years. And no-one ever said anything to me about it, for good or ill.

Nowadays I mostly wear a yellow gold Cellini on a leather strap, which is a bit less conspicuous (and certainly not a watch that obviously yells "Rolex", even to many of those familiar with the brand). But I wear it for no other reason than that I want to wear it, and I like it. Go with what makes you happy !

PM is what I wear probably 85% of the time period. Work home etc

Have I had a few comments in my mostly younger male dominated place of employment? Sure but I say the exact same thing I say when wearing SS, "oh you like this? Man Its fake"

I wear Glaushutte Original PanoMatic Lunar, and most people just comment "interesting dial/settings" because of its off-centre dial and moonphase.
And subsequent conversation just went quiet after I told them what brand it is because in their mind if it's not Rolex it's cheap stuff.
I am thinking to wear my Patek to office now.

Not full PM but I wear my TT blue Sub at the office. I work in finance. I would wear a full YG. Nobody cares.
