36 looks better than 41 in the pics but that could be deceiving...

The 36 looks a way better fit.

I understand where you are coming from. Whenever I wear my DD in rotation it always feels small for the first day.
After that it’s hard to take it off.
For me the 36mm DD is the perfect watch, the President bracelet gives it the right balance. It doesn’t come better than that

I'm 6'2 (with large wrists) and have a 36MM day date and a 41MM day date. I'm actually a fan of the 36MM since it's more comfortable to wear

Good choice!
Which are you inclined toward - 18238 or 118238?

I don’t think there’s any bad choice there. Both have the 3155 movement - 18238 offers more dial options, 118238 has the heavier bracelet.

If Arnold could pull off a 36mm back in the day so can mere mortals like us. Mine felt small initially compared to my Sd 43 but now I dig the way it looks on meGo for it!

I think it does look way too small on you.
40 is the way to go and if out of budget then a DJ41

Just hard to back to a DJ after trying on a DD

More inclined towards the 118238 because it looked like it wore larger

I’ll be honest, jokes aside: I love this watch. I have a couple SS modern pieces too but this thing is just great.

My wrists are 7.25” for reference.

Those lugs aren’t polished are they? You make me want to just buy the 18238 and polish the lugs. Your watch looks to be in excellent condition

This watch has definitely been polished during service, it’s a 1982 serial number - the reason the lugs have a brushed finish is because this is not a 18238, mine is a 18038 single quickest - which featured brushed lugs.

Many of us have been in the same situation including myself.

Just save up for the DD40 and you'll thank me later.

Meh. I think the 36 will fit fine and I’ll save a ton of money. The dj41 just doesn’t look as good as the daydate

Of course it looks small compared to a 41, but the 41 is ridiculously large, in my opinion, so you just have to decide what you think looks best on your wrist. I think the 36 mm DJs and DDs are perfectly proportioned.

Yeah, I think everyone has me convinced, I'm pretty sure 36 is the play.

All the 5-digits have brushed lugs, 180xx and 182xx - Polished lugs came in 2000 with the 6-digits.

I think I'm going 18238 and getting the lugs polished.

Either 18238 or 118238 would be great on you; just focus on getting a good case / bracelet regardless of the dial as that is easy to have it changed at an RSC (most non diamond dials are just $500, they would keep the old dial, service would be required as well which is another $800 or so but would get 2 year warranty)

It's about what you like, not everyone else, but since you asked, I think it looks great.

36 is the classic size for yellow gold and looks great on you. People of all sizes have worn the 36.

Wear them some more. Look at them on your wrist and in the mirror. If you like the larger size go for it. Worst case you can always sell it and get the other size later if you have regrets.

How you feel is really all that should matter. But since you are asking: the 36mm size looks much better.
