I understand the reason behind it. With the market being what it is, I don't have a problem with it.

I don’t have a problem with the requirement given the market. My first Rolex was from an AD in NYC. Fortunately, it was just a train ride for me from DC. I made a day of it. Had a nice lunch and did some other shopping. Had a blast and got my watch.

I too had the same issue, being in Florida on a trip when my AD at Bucherer 3 Bryant Park had one of my request "list" watches available but I had to fly back in person and I couldn't and they would not wait a week for when I came back.

I don't know if it's Rolex policy or not, but my last 3 Rolex were in person required also. In fact, the last one I bought also said they do not accept CC for Rolex purchases. Cash or check only. I'm fairly certain it comes down to fraud/theft issues.

If the AD selling you the watch says you have to be in person to pay and collect, then I’m guessing if you want the watch you’d better get yourself to that AD to pay and collect, in person!

If not, find another AD and watch.

Yes. Flew to Florida to pick up a watch when I got the call a couple years ago. Well worth it.

Make a fun trip if it. That’s what I did.
