Here in Illinois where I live its legal to talk on a cell phone. But in Chicago it is illegal to talk unless you have a hands free device!!!
Observation, isn't it great that where ever you are people talk really loud on their cell phones like that will make a difference.....

Only becoming illegal in select cities in North Central Alberta. May become Province-wide in the fall though.

Drivers here are bad enough without added distractions.

Most countries, states and provinces do not need more laws to protect stupid people from themselves in my opinion. Education should be enough.

If you and your family are hurtling down the road at 100 kmh in a one and a half ton conveyance it behooves you to be attentive.

Common sense should be more common.

I see so many idiots texting while driving, it is amazing.

I have taken to turning mine off completely for my commute.

legal so far, but they are talking about banning this for "new drivers".
In BC, you get a learners licence first. 1 year minimum driving with an adult.
After this year, you take a road test, and then get to display an N on your car for 2 years, as a New Driver.

In Belgium it is illegal. Fine is 100 euro. Each year 70.000 people get caught.
Since a few weeks the government launched a big campaign encouraging people not to use the phone while driving.

You find billboards everywhere :

Legal in Virginia where I am, but across the border in DC it's not. Luckily I have bluetooth in my 5er, so I can operate the phone via iDrive.
