Humbly, Lucky, Lucky 2nd time walk in surprise.…..

As I wrote in my last post, watches are amazing, and I have become a big ROLEX fan. Over this past year I have stopped at various Rolex AD's in NYC and Southeast Florida to admire their various offerings. I would also enter my request for certain Rolex models at those AD’s.

So, in my seemingly never-ending quest to visit as many AD’s as possible, last week I landed at the Miami Design District AD. Looking to add a two tone with black dial to my collection, I wanted to see if they had to try on the Submariner Date and/or the new GMT-Master II, the latter of which they didn’t have yet. The Associate was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. She observed photos of my current collection and appreciated my passion as a collector. Seeing I had mostly Subs and Daytonas, she asked if I would be interested in the new model SS/18KY Sky Dweller, black dial with jubilee bracelet as it fit my search parameters. She felt that is would be a great addition to my tool watch collection by dressing it up a bit.

She went to the back office and came out with the Sky Dweller. Then she went into the detail about the watch, one of the most complicated watches Rolex makes. Though not on my wish list, when it was on my wrist, I really loved the fluted bezel and the look and different feel of the jubilee bracelet. On top of that, the Ring command system for all the functions she detailed was impressive. None of my current watches had those novelties. Seeing my appreciation for the watch, she let me know it was available.
