I know the TT 36mm Explorer is not the most desirable sports piece, but there are LOTS of "worse" pieces that could be in its place imo. It's not one that I personally am lusting after, but if it was paired with something I really wanted (currently a GRNR GMT or a Mint Sky-D), I would go for the deal. I would probably actually keep the Explorer as well as I've always kinda liked it.

At least the "must buy" watch is not a super expensive ladies DJ President, with diamond bezel and diamond dial or something like that.

LOTS of worse? I'm struggling to name a few...

I put the word worse in quotes as it's a relative term. What I meant by "worse" are ones that are much more expensive, less desirable and probably will have to take a bigger loss on if the OP was just looking to resell and get rid of it. Also, ones with a bigger price tag to leave the store with as well.

There are basically no bad Rolex watches. Just higher and lesser demand ones? For each and every model, there is an enthusiast out there somewhere that would love to have it on their wrist.

I’d wear it. Perhaps it was meant for the ladies?

I know this is technically frowned upon by Rolex, but it was actually refreshing to see a dealer be up front and honest with me, telling me what I need to do in order to acquire the piece that I want, rather than the games the UK ADs usually play.

Can anyone from UK tell me what the list prices are for the 2 watches? I am seriously considering it.

What is the current resale price of the Explorer 36mm TT? It's not a watch that I want, and I'm not looking to make any profit on it. I would be happy to get list back just so I can get the Starbucks.

Thanks

OP, here’s an idea. Looks like you already have a 124060. Not sure what else you have, but I think the Exp Rolesor and LV would make a great pair. Variety and covers a lot of bases. Better pair than your Sub and LV. Of course, you have to like the Exp Rolesor for this to work. Good luck!

It's a lovely watch. But I'm not ready to part ways with 21k.

Plus I'm not a fan of TT, apart from the TT GMT CHNR.

Yes, this is the current collection.

I'm here for a few more days, so may visit again and see if there's any room for negotiation, or discount possible?

Problem is, both watches are £1k over UK list price (each).

I would tell the AD to show me both watches before committing if he’s telling the truth.

if i wanted this watch, i'd do the deal.
unworn/new starbucks w/ full kit trades for like 15.5-16K wholesale, and with that you're wiring money to a stranger on facebook, who has strong references from other strangers on facebook.

You'll pay even more than that to a Trusted Forum Seller; at least 1-2K more. So, now we're at 17-18+? David has a used one (2021) for 19K... see where i'm going with this?

So, yeah - i'd have taken this deal on the spot and have the explorer sold in 24h.

I’d do it, too, if I could afford it, then flip the one you don’t need or want.

Exactly what I was thinking when I read the title, “Rolex Starbucks” ….. I’d be embarrassed to even say that.

Assuming they are at the RRP of the location you are in, I’d suggest likely no discount but it doesn’t hurt to ask. The RRP globally it’s doesn’t convert to GBP.

I wouldn’t do this if you don’t want the other. All you end up with is a headache of trying to offload the explorer and given the market ain’t great, I’d suggest a grey would likely lowball on the exp.

Plenty of these available grey for around 13-13.5k in the U.K. if you are dead set on the LV, I’d likely just do that but as someone said earlier just ring round a few greys and get them to give to an indicative quote on an unworn TT explorer.

Thanks for the input.

Yes, don't really want the Explorer. After conversion, both watches are coming up to around £21,100.

£10,991 for the Explorer
£10,094 for the LV

Even if I get 8k back on the Explorer, the LV has cost me 13k+ - I can get one back home from a grey for this price?

Update: went back to the AD, no discount available at all.

126610LN Submariner date available IF bundled with a Tudor (Pelagos, Pelagos 39mm or GMT).

Personally I'd never be forced to buy a watch I'd never wear, just to get a watch that I wanted.

I think the TT explorer does indeed look like a ladies watch. A beautiful, eye catching watch, just not for men.

When you add them in the search on ROLEX.COM they do appear first.

Yep, they are there or thereabouts. Either way it would be risk/hassle to save what would likely be a couple of hundred quid.

The 126610LN sounds a better deal, but again with the conversation to GBP you may be paying over the GBP RRP anyway.
