Waiting for the call on the white exp2. White dial is a nice change.

You know what's nice about the white dial? The date window matches the dial

Love me some clean beautiful white dials. It allows me to more casually sport my otherwise somewhat gaudy yellow gold Day-Date.

There are plenty with white dial:
DJ’s, Exp II, Sky D, DD, Daytona. Lots of Vintage white dials too.

Totally agree. Love white dials… not just for Rolex, but many other watch manufacturers! The Explorer II is proof you can have a white dial AND enhanced legibility.

No, but I would like to see, perhaps in the Tudor BB chrono and opaline, maybe some black outlining of the hands, such as in the polar, to make them more readable, maybe?

Beauty’s but for some reason I can’t do white dials or white shoes. I’d rather get something with some color in it.

I learned that white dials are not for me. Tried the 39mm OP in white and just never bonded with it. It was my first white dial watch and probably my last. Moved it on pretty quickly.

I don't dislike them though, I think they look great on other people and are a solid solid choice...just not for me.

Generally speaking, I don’t care for white dials, but that remake of a 68 classic Seiko diver, looked best in white, to me, and as an avid Seiko fan, I bought it:

Though the bracelet it came on was pretty nice, I put it on an OEM seichu strap, which is the most comfortable strap ever…

I'm happy with what's in the current catalogue. Realistically, I'd love it if they brought back the DJ36 White dial with batons.

A wish would be an OP36 White dial (this one could be an off white/eggshell, similar to the old OP39).

Personally I’m not a fan. White dials I think belong on older watches or on clocks but on modern Rolexes especially sports models I think coloured dials are better. I’ve seen the yellow gold Day Date and white dial in person and it makes it look old, like something my grandfather would have. The one exception is the panda dial, that is beautiful.

I had a 39mm OP in white that I should have kept. Nothing else Rolex does in white really draws me in. I think a white dial 40mm Explorer would break the internet but I'm not sure I'd want even that.

My Speedmaster is currently my favorite white dial.

That's an interesting take I haven't heard before. I'm old, but not that old! Does my yellow gold Day-Date look like something only a grandfather would wear?

How about these?

Beautiful classic Rolex. I have the same Rolex, and it wears well on my 7 1/2 inch wrist.

The roman’s keep the white dial interesting to look at and can look shiny and bright in certain lighting conditions and dark and black in others.

Those are beautiful, though I’m not into Roman numeral dials. The yellow gold with white dial is stunning, though, and does not make me think of anyone’s Grandpa….

I'd love to see more white dials. If they would make the white stick dial back the current OP lineups it'd be great!

I couldn't agree more. That would be a stunning (and hard to get) reference. I'd even be happy with a BBPRO white dial while I wait.

Judging by your reactions, I get the impression that there is some interest out there for other models with white dials. Thanks for posting all of these great photos; unfortunately, they are making me "hungrier" for a new watch than I was before!

In my opinion, there is nothing "old" about your watch. "Old school" perhaps, but in a very refined and elegant way. I'm not usually a big fan of yellow gold, but when paired with the white dial, I find it looks fantastic.

As a point of interest: Rolex has in fact offered both the Explorer I and GMT Master with a white dial in the past, so my suggestion in my initial post actually has a "historical precedent". Here are links to articles about the two models if anyone would care to take a look:

I think they should make an OP with alpha hands with white dial, kind of a throwback. But they won't do that so...

Too close to the silver, perhaps, which is stunning:

36 mm
