RM style budget and I’d be looking to bid on the Only Watch MB&F x Moser Streamliner just announced.

Hypothetically…..Rolex, high horological pieces, & Richard Mille
Money not being a barrier, I would absolutely love to have an RM in my collection. But I typically like watches that are peculiar (even within popular traditional brands i.e. Milgauss Z-Blue) and RM is quite far and away from a traditional watch. My favourite RM being the 11-03. Particularly the one that JJ Lin wears.

For all you guys simultaneously bashing RM and Lamborghini :) How many of you have actually driven or handled one before, or are you basing your decision based off the perception of whom you assume the owners would be. I've met plenty of abrasive and crass people who don't own high end luxury items, can't extrapolate a small group of people represent the entire owner community.

I think a RM would be fun. I haven’t done it either. Prices got out of hand but I think it’s a little more realistic now. (Relatively)
I’ve gotten to handle a couple and I was very very impressed. My choice would be the grey bubba (55). I’ll post pics of the ones I checked out. More wow factor than almost anything. Only watch that comes to mind that was more impressive was a flying tourb offshore! (Will post a pic of that too If I weren’t giving up any of my pieces and just adding I’d go for it! (In this “scenario”) But ultimately I’d go with that AP you posted. AP is number one for me as far as what I think is cool and like to wear. I’m surprised you don’t wear AP, I think for a guy like you; rose gold perpetual calendar blue dial. Call it a day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

To answer your question have handled many RM have not driven a Lamborghini. I was more referring to the fact that the Huracan is the default new money/youtuber car.

That FPJ was stunning! RMs are very cool and sporty if that is what you are going for, but the complications of the HH are pretty fantastic. I would include ALS in your search as they may do it the best. Maybe a platinum perpetual.

I think you need to determine why exactly you want to make this purchase. If you indeed care about the quality, craftsmanship, and true high horology, there are plenty of amazing options that the average person wouldn't recognize on the street already mentioned here.
If you care about the brand recognition but also want something "high end" the the RM might be the right move for you. Really just need to be honest with yourself. An RM watchmaker even told me that he thinks the watches are extremely overpriced, but in the end all that matters is you have the budget and it accomplishes your person goal of the purchase and not what anyone else thinks |

the last thing I would consider when making a large watch purchase is “what people think when they see me in this”
In my opinion nobody really cares that much, and how a watch makes you feel is much more important Gives you butterflies? Have enough money? Just buy it imho Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you want a daily sports piece, get the RM to scratch the itch. If you want a more delicate and classic / classy piece, go Patek for the complications. Depends what you're looking for.

it sounds like you already made up your mind rmlovett1 :)
imo RM is at the top of HH, I've sold everything else due to loss of interest you can start with "basic" RMs and move to their vintage ones when you want a masterpiece these arent rational purchases, follow your heart and you will be happy |

Finishing isn’t there but shock resistance and corrosion proofing is (which is more their effort imo) Sort of feels like you can’t have it all in these movements, even at this price range! But when the day comes that you can have it all, I expect it will be an RM movement that provides, not the other way around To answer the OP, I went through the same consideration and only had enough disposable scratch to form a relationship with one brand. At the time it was RM or FPJ. I chose RM because I am very active and rarely wear formal attire. If I could go back, it might be with FPJ because wearing RM watches in public is a whole ordeal when it comes to safety. Kind of a hassle when you consider it’s just a watch. I don’t really regret my decision though, because the ownership experience and journey has still been a rewarding experience. Every time I do wear my RM I feel like I’m wearing something truly special and fun - it puts a smile on my face without fail. My colleague ended up choosing FPJ at my suggestion and every time I see him I end up stealing his watch for a few minutes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
