Simply this: No reason to chance it when experts with experience (I’m not one) have made it clear that it’s not a good idea. Also, there are so many fine examples available that aren’t risky. Just take one of those and be at peace.

I don't know it's to much of a risk, I would walk unless if it's an A.D. because they usually allow returns.

Do not purchase this.
Those are some of the worst crown guards I have ever seen.
They aren’t even there anymore.
Regardless of original LV or not.

Forget the paperwork. That watch is not in good condition.

Agreed.
As long as the purchase price reflects the condition of the watch it should be fine.
The problem is with the authenticity.
It's not like it's being portrayed as a MK I Flat "4" box and papers, hang tags with purchase receipts and the Anchor

The OP is taking a risk and they know it, just looking for information to try and gauge all the factors at play.
The purchase price may be quite attractive for all anyone knows and I would be factoring in a new Midcase long term.
At the end of the day I wouldn't necessarily cross the street to look at a Kermit. I've had one of the first and sold it because it really didn't measure up to my expectations.
Better value would be found in the new MK II 126610LV by a big margin. IHMO
But the heart wants what it wants and I hope it all works out for the OP in the end

No deal for me. The LV should be obtained -only- as a full & original set. The risk is to high that it is a mod watch.
Prices are to serious for gambling….

I was kidding — I wouldn’t buy this watch with a gun to my head. But i find so many people here are far less careful with their watch purchases, so what the hey!

It is a badly damaged individual

I would consider buying it for $1000

As long as everyone is piling on I'll join the fun!

Those crown guards look like they were polished by an angry beaver with a Dremel tool. I'm not sure why so much material is missing from them.
