I have an 116710BLNR and an 114060 (among others). I think they're different enough to have them both. If you like it get it, if you don't pass on it. Ultimately you would know right away if it's the right one for you. If you're second guessing it might not be the one.

I had both and found the visual difference to be too similar to justify keeping both. So I offloaded the Sub and kept the GMT. It's a personal choice, so you'll have to make a decision yourself. But my guess from reading your tone is that there won't be room to keep both in your collection.

Thanks for all the advice. The easiest path is the Sub/DJ as even one of the AD’s said “lets get you a DJ and then when you are ready we will work on the GMT”. For me, the alternative thought to GMT is the skydweller. It has the complications that are pretty cool. But, the whole looking into buying a watch now fever i have is from my wanting the Batman.

I don’t want a dress watch, which is what i think of a DJ as, since i have a separate fund for my dream dress watch, that i am hoping to put in a request for next year (not-Rolex)

I have a Sub (no date SS), and my next wish is a Batman on oyster. Tried all the SS GMTs and that was the one I preffered. On waiting list for it.
Now, when I get older I would love a Pepsi on Jubilee, somehow the jubilee steals the show for the batman I think, whilst the Pepsi still pops beyond the Jubilee. So I asked if possible to get a Pepsi on Jubilee within the next 5 years for my 50 th… we ll see :)

I agree with all the advice to add the GMT on jubilee. I've had both on Oyster and they still worked perfectly well together but the jubilee really sets them apart.

Too similar for me and I prefer the sub as you already have.

Would look elsewhere for the second watch.

both are great watches. the problem is that you can't just walk into a AD and get a batman.

So I have a Submariner and I just got a GMT on a jubilee (literally today), and I think in order for it to work, you need a 3rd watch. I don’t think a Sub/GMT combo is a good 2 watch duo. But if you get a 3rd watch, something totally different, then they work good together. My 2 cents.

If it's a two watch collection, the BLNR on jubilee works MUCH better than on oyster. I agree with Krash in post #42, these two work best in a trio where the third is different ... and who are we kidding here on TRF, a duo almost always becomes a trio. Good luck!

I have both and I would have no problem if these were the only two in my collection. I tend to wear the Sub when doing more active things due to the brushed bracelet. I have the BLNR on Jubilee and love it…

Might add the BLNR on jubilee with my black sub date. I do think the LV is a better pair, but then you lose the all black go to classic option. I found myself not going to the 124060 when I had the BLNR with on jubilee, but my theory is because it didn’t have the cyclops date, not just that I liked the BLNR more. I did feel the lugs were a bit too big on the GMT, but I am over that. Wished I liked the Pepsi more, that would solve it all. If I can, going to try to see the BLRO in person.

I just got my GMT so I’m very much in the honeymoon phase here, but one thing about the BLNR I noticed is that you can’t see the splash of blue from a far. I’m sort of surprised by that. The only difference that separates the Sub and GMT from a far is the jubilee bracelet.

I had to zoom in on that picture … still nothing. That said, when I owned it, I remember how in natural light the blue really popped.

Yeah, I'm wondering if the latest iteration is a little darker and more subdued. Because I remember folks on here saying they didn't like how bright the blue looked.

yeah it's very lighting based but every time i see one in person it really surprises me how good it looks, especially on jubilee. the blue pops outside in natural light. i think i like it more than the pepsi

That’s really interesting, so would you say it’s more like the submariner than a side by side in the actual AD store?

Have you also considered a rubber strap, as Batman on Blue really stands out differently than the Sub imho. Both rock!

Agree with this.

The LV paired with the BLNR on jubilee…or even the sub (“no date”) paired with the BLNR on jubilee will create a little more differentiation.
