Maybe for the same reason why someone has more than one pair of black leather shoes, black belts, suits etc.
If I had the money I would have a dozen PAM just for the tiny differences that enjoy me and not necessarily the other people.

If that was a reply to me then yeah sure I get it but we are talking about watches that cost several thousand and most people do not have the money to buy multiples of the same model in different colours like they may do with clothes.

I was convinced I wanted carbotech, I'm a mountaineer, extreme sports enthusiast. But after some research I found that the problem with carbotech is that it shatters relatively easily, especially around the lugs, and if it shatters then it's a very very expensive fix.
For a sports watch, that is a big flaw.
