Wow! Congratulations!
You must have a pretty special relationship with your AD to even be considered for that piece let alone be given the opportunity to purchase it. Well done. Just curious, do you intend to wear it on a regular basis or is it just a conversation piece & nice to have in the collection? Cheers

As for wrist time, this is an evolving situation. I told the AD I would never wear it. Then the next day I wore it, and today I am wearing it again. This will not replace the Explorer II as a daily...I swear. But it is a fun watch and it has lightened my mood.

Amazing! I’ve been to many ADs and they all said they haven’t received any of these yet… I’m very curious to see in person.
Congrats! |

Good post. It has some heft but not to horrible at 248 grams. Solid gold Sky-Dweller's weigh about the same. White gold YMII and Platona's are heavier.

Even though it's not something I'd ever buy myself - I sold my 116660 DSSD because I found it too thick and cumbersome - I'm still curious to see it IRL. Anyway, congrats OP!

That is a great score. This is a watch you will never ever seeing in the wild.
On a sidenote: wouldn’t that particular model have to go back to Rolex Switzerland to be pressure tested?? It’s such a specialized piece of equipment.

Nice watch and a technical achievement but its depth rating will never be used by man or even superman in water, wear it in good health.

major congrats. I truly love the purpose built of this one. Reminds me of my SD4K where everything on it has a technical reason and nothing is fashion oriented.

I’m not sure I’d wear it a lot but no question it’s a very cool thing to own.
