No sweat, the house will appreciate a lot quicker than a Rolex. ....and then again you can always buy more watches when things pick up a bit.

This is too funny, the guy still has a solid gold watch worth, who knows 10k-20k depending on....and you guys make it sound like he can't feed the twins.
Many would love to swap positions.

Greg, don't feel bad. I've been without a Rolex since 2002. I had to sell it to help my parents out with finances. Since then, MANY things have come up in my personal life, and getting a Rolex now would not be the right choice for me to do. So, I recently just bought a less expensive watch to "hold me over" untill I can get a Sub. again.
Don't worry, you did the right thing, family ALWAYS come first IMO. |

Those who have their priorities in order always come out on top again..Just think of the fun you will have in a very short time in going on the hunt for a new watch. A big part of the fun for me!
If you have an itch to scratch you might want to pop over to the new Alpha USA site, get one of those tasty Newmans for a shade under $150, bit of fun and a lovely movement in them! |

Greg, I know it's been said but you do have your priorities straight. Family is way more important then material goods. Watching your children grow up and being there for them is priceless. The enjoyment you will feel and pride in their accomplishments will be fulfilling and satisfying!!!

Damn, you guys sure know how to make a guy feel better! (well, most of you - Ronnie boy, you miss the mark, as always )
Patrick - not a chance. That VHS cassette is hidden so well, even I don't know where it is! Sheldon, Leo(s), Chip, Steve, Oscar, Mark, Bruno, Dan, Mike, Karis, Kyle, Emil, Anthony, Pav, Harvey, Karim (boy - there's many of you great folks here! ) - makes sense, thanks for the words of encouragement I am glad I can rely on you guys for a 'pick-me-up'! Eric - my twins were a 'split' - boy and a girl. Not sure what the girls are getting (I have an older one as well). Greg - you deserve a lottery win after putting up with Houston for as long as you did! Maybe that frenzy is just 'round the corner! Paul - if I didn't get that bathroom remodeled, I would be sleeping in the old one, per Erin Vu, Frankie - ain't that the truth - love having a liquid collection! Shandy, I will check out the Alphas, but it is tough to replace a Rolie, as we all know! Nelson - you're simply too kind, my friend! I, as always, am humbled by how nice the folks here are! Bitsy - right back at cha, man! Believe it or not, I take some of the 'common sense' lessons from you, mate! Peter - most of the house is still a mess, but I will definitely post updates as they come. If I forgot anyone, I am sorry - my near-2-y/o is climbing on me. Now all I have to figure out is what 'Pe-Teeee' means, 'cause she keeps saying it. Just decoded 'Ce Ba Ma Yeyo Bo' - means 'Cereal Bar in my Yellow Bowl'. Boy, what a task to have to figure this out!

Greg,
Hope things get better but you have your priorities in order. I had a similar decision to make recently and the watch I thought I would not get rid of, again, had to go. Great choice of watch to keep though - that Breguet is probably still my ultimate grail. Love it. Take care and I'm sure things will on more solid footing. Chris

Sorry to hear about that as well Greg. At least you can surround yourself with incredible watches at work! I don't think I've worked since I bought my LV from you a while back, but we are still heads above water, as are you.

Material things are temporary. Of all I own, nearly all of it is movable, if need be. The bits that aren't? A century-old penknife that was my great-great-grandfather's. I swore to my grandfather it would stay in the family. My wedding ring. It may be simple silver, but it means the world. Last, my Masonic ring. Base ring was my father's, inlaid into the sides are lapel pins from my grandfather and great-grandfather. Those pieces stay. The rest can go- it all pales in comparison. |

Casey,
Clearly, I am not placing my balance sheet out there for review, but single digits are no stranger to this family - try looking at that red ink, THAT'S scary. As I am self-employed PLUS in the luxuries business (which is the first to tank when the economy goes), we have seen some rough times. You sound like a young guy, don't sweat the financial instabilities yet!

Sorry to hear you got no Roli's, but it's just temporary after all, and you can look forward to all the new ones you will get in the future. In the meantime, buck up, man, the season is upon us, and just think of all the joy the Bengals are gonna bring ya'.
Or maybe not.
