Favorite Two Tone (bi- metal)

My daily and favorite. Of your three choices I like the CHNR. Cheers to enjoying the journey

I am with you on loving the TT look as a child of the 80s! I have a DJ 41 TT black dial, Sub TT (black) and a Cartier Santos TT. Love all of them but must say the Santos does have something really special about it plus it’s the most comfortable and versatile with the strap change mechanism. Was offered the Daytona TT in both black and white dial variants but turned them both down as I don’t think the execution of the TT Daytona is as great as it could be - if only the bezel was ceramic like on the full PM oyster flex. Rootbeer is really nice but not a great fan of the colour scheme compared to the more classic yellow gold TT. Good luck in your purchase!

I bought this Daytona new in the early 90s and it’s true that back then TT was the thing of beauty. Despite my large collection it has and will always be a fixture. I’ve said before that TT will have a resurgence soon. Fashion always goes in circles and a TT renaissance is well over due.

This is not necessarily my last word in TT matters, as i can really only speak for those i am experiencing dayly. One that stunned my wife and myself is her 126231 with a slate dial. It came unexpectedly to say the least. Basically we went to the AD to place an order for her for a 126234 with silver dial, and the saleslady , wearing a (hardly recognisable, last pic) 116513 took out the 126231 and some other diamond set reference just to make sure 36 would be the right size. It definitely was, and with a cheeky smile the lady added that well…this would actually be available! Neddless to say that…

As for my GRNR, well it’s maybe too recent to be a classic, or is it ?Not the first of its kind (think 116713) but still… . I don’t want to be overly lyrical on this, but just awesome combination for an already awesome watch!

That 126231 on slate is awesome! My personal favourite DJ ever.

I’m saving for one of these three (probably the Daytona) as they are my favorite two tones. I’m close to having to finalize a decision.

Please share some of your bimetal pics and let me know of other steel and gold pieces that you think merit consideration.

I think the TT execution on the Santos is nice. If I ever get a second "nice" watch it will be a Santos. Just completely different than Rolex. And nothing else like it.

That being said I think there is something about the Daytona that lends itself to looking great in TT.

like the fact that I’m a fan of TT and they aren’t as popular.

My lone foray into two-tone territory was briefly owning a chocolate dial rose gold Datejust 41. Absolutely beautiful watch, but I quickly figured out the hard way two tone, and rose gold in particular was not for me. Off it went.

I've never owned a TT Rolex but my favorites would probably be the TT Blue Sub and DJ on jubilee with champagne dial and fluted bezel.

Bluesy is the ultimate bi-colour watch. Some say it’s an 80s coke dealer’s watch…. Some say it’s too flashy. All rubbish.
Bluesy for the win!
