Good luck. I’d definitely have the watch opened up to make sure everything checks out.

That's definitely the only payment method I would consider, but I was thinking more along the lines of if there were an issue with the watch that wasn't disclosed that would make you no longer want it, or would warrant a partial refund and the seller ghosted you would PayPal have your back?

Good luck! Reddit scares me. It does sound like you did your due diligence, though. Can’t wait for pics.

How does it scare you? There are watch dealers who list their watches on there as well. Private sales happen here, on moda, anywhere online.

Yeah, PayPal will still have my back. Buyer protection guaranteed- item not as described.

Seller also provided proof of payment from his AD.

Reddit, in general, scares me. It just strikes me as a sleazy platform. I stay away.

That’s great, I think you did some great due diligence, probably more than most

Thinking of selling something so I may check it out I wasn’t aware transactions happened there

Question about the bad girl versus Pepsi – do you think that the Pepsi is going to fall out of favor for this color combination? Just curious because I had a Pepsi sold it and I’m thinking about it again

Package arrived today.

Full set, including white tag (Had a sticker with MSRP and style number. Scanned the RLX card and it works like it should.

Would love extra piece of mind - should I take it to the RSC and get a quote for service or authenticate at a grey dealer? AD will only do an appraisal.

If from reputable dealer, then I'd sleep soundly at night knowing it's very likely authentic. Don't know about reddit, though, as I don't think dealers typically post there (might be completely wrong on that).

If you're losing sleep over questioning whether authentic or not, I'd figure out a solution somehow. Otherwise, you won't enjoy the watch, which is the whole point.

I would get it authenticated ASAP. A few $100 to get it authenticated is worth it. Super fakes are too good nowadays.

Def. Just need to fig best course of action where to authenticate in LA. RSC will not authentic only quote for service. If it’s a fake they will not quote.

AD will only do an appraisal.

Maybe a watch shop that sells Rolexes?

Seller provided card statement where he purchased watch in 22

I believe the common strategy is get a quote for service from rsc and if everything checks out just refuse the quote. There’s some nominal fee they charge that basically just covers return ship.

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. Quote for a polish.

My local AD charges up to $100 for that round trip kill fee. With that said, a local reputable watchmaker / repair shop may perform an authentication check for $50 or less, YMMV.

They are faking RLX cards now. They actually work too. Guy on youtube posted on it. Scary times. Here is the YouTube video if your interested. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5yaqEM4NSA

Not trying to scare anybody, just trying to inform.

Hard to tell, it can go either way. Only RLX knows. Everyone is hyping up bezel issues, especially greys to raise prices. Seeing jubilee sell for $22k+. Personally, I wouldn’t jump on the Pepsi bandwagon.

yep, go to RSC and ask for a service quote.

if they give you one, you'll know.

you can always make up some issue if needed.

So? Send it in for a service estimate. If it comes back, it's good. If they don't quote, it's a fake. Right?

It's unique but not completelystrange I suppose. I just think of all the precautions you took, this one added nothing to the security of the deal.
