126618LB vs 116618LB

Very few have the flat blue/matte dial. I believe it was only the first year or two of production. Very easy to spot in photos and most sellers mention it anyway because they think they can charge a premium. I’m with you though. Sunburst all day long. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You’ve heard all the points from others. I’ve owned both. Presently I have the 12 series and I plan to keep it. Case proportions (less blocky looking) is why I prefer it.
I wish it had gold lettering. That’s a plus for the 11. The 3135 in the 11 series is a more proven movement. But Rolex will fix fhe issue if we have one, with the 3235 movement. Just another WIS who loves to trade. @bladeandwatch1 on IG

Let’s be honest it comes down to money: 116 = 31k 126=36k so you’ve got a 5k delta for a 1mm difference. If you can spare the 5k then go 126. If the 5k “matters” then go 116
Either way you can’t go wrong and no one and I mean know will know the difference except you. If it were me I’d go 116 just to save the dough. Make sure it’s a full set no matter what and enjoy. |

Personally …..there’s not a big enough difference between the two to justify a big $$$ difference. I’d own either one, no problem.
If all things were equal…full set, fantastic condition on both, etc….it’d come down to the $$ you want to spend. The only thing I’d factor in is the 11 series would/might need a service sooner. |

After careful deliberation decided to go w the 126618lb. This was a helpful thread. Thanks to everyone and will post when i get watch in hand! Ultimately i had a 116610LV and the differences made it worthwhile to spend a little extra (though ill miss the gold lettering on the 116). The pics in this thread were super helpful!

Youre right but when in this price range sometimes easier
To just buy what you want rather than regret it. I was happy to have a newer watch in warranty and appreciated the proportions. Also i had the 116 in ss lv so felt at least this would be different. |
