Not underrated at all. It’s exactly where it should be. Besides, it’s on your wrist and you’re lucky to own it. Enjoy it..

It’s one of my favorite PM pieces from Rolex. If I didn’t have the stainless version I would’ve tried to allocate one.

Guessing it's not looking to get it when the prices are "reasonable" because once it's discontinued it'll likely spike up - see meteorite Daytonas for reference.

does the dial not claiming a 50k premium anymore really make it an underrated watch?

Why is the GMT Meteorite so underrated

Similarly with the Tudor BBGMT, the Opaline dial looks cool in photos but isn’t very legible IRL, the black dial is much better.

In my opinion Rolex should’ve used the Explorer II hands with the meteorite dial, but you obviously aren’t buying that watch for functionality lol

I had legibility concerns before getting mine, but tbh it's a non-issue 90% of the time. the 10% where it might be an issue is resolved by tilting your wrist slightly

I think this model is the most beautiful of all, unfortunately I don't like white gold.

The OP evidently believes that this watch is "underrated" because it doesn't get as much hype as it once did. The problem is that hype is merely unfounded, deceptive exaggeration based on irrationality, and that would imply that the old hype price (90 grand) was in fact actually an overvaluation.

I myself find the meteorite Pepsi to be very beautiful, but I wouldn't even be willing to pay the retail price because it has one fatal flaw: It can't be had on a jubilee bracelet.

If Rolex really wants to make a meteorite Pepsi worthy of "hype", they need to offer it on a white gold jubilee bracelet -- and trim down those fat lugs a bit. It's high time that the Maxi case finally be put to rest...

Exactly, every PM watch is better on Jubilee, scratches are almost invisible.

I don't think it's underrated. It's certainly overpriced on the used market, regardless of how inflated it's been in the recent past. But then again so is the SS BLRO, which also has a ridiculous grey premium. I think it would look better and be more legible with either black hands like the Explorer II or a darker dial.

I tried it when I was visiting China. It looked a bit busy to me but is very special that's for sure!

Is a lot of money too and unattainable...

When you consider a steel and rubber 5164a is going for the mid-60s grey, I suppose you could make the case this is a steal :)
then again the Patek is wildly overpriced

I’ve never thought of it as being underrated. I absolutely love it and I’m looking to add it this year.

Personally I find the contrast between the hands and the face very poor making it hard to read the time. Not sure this really matters to the people buying this watch though.

Are these still making an appearance at ADs? I inquired years ago. The dial makes it hard to read and its blue dial brother is under MSRP and dropping. Is the dial worth 15k premium? Maybe. It’s a cool watch.

10k over retail and you are calling it overrated?

Can you explain that, please?

It is not underrated at all IMO. But when I thought I wanted one badly, tried it on and my poor eyes had a difficult time making out the actual time. The hands were difficult for legibility. That was a deal breaker for me.

Pepsi in SS on Jubilee is the winner for me.
I like the meteorite dial. Looks great, but not legible enough for me.

Underrated I said my friend cause had an aftermarket price of 90k whereas other Rolex watches didn’t have that drop.

That was the question, I’m not an speculator just collector asking myself questions on a watch that i consider special.
