I would have purchased the Daydate and told the sales rep to hold off on the Daytona till next year or so. The Daytona will not get discontinued and there is a possibility that the Daydate might get discontinued.

Exactly my position right now, with my AD offering me the blue dial YM 40, which I really liked, and almost bought, but held off for the Rhodium. A month in, I'm questioning my decision. Yes, I'm patient, LOL, which isn't good in this hobby!

I feel bad, but as soon as I saw the word “Daytona” followed by “pikachu”, I stopped reading….

I have the DD olive and love it….but was just offered YG Daytona (full bracelet) with black dial and champagne subdials…..had to say no, not for me. For this kind of cash, you have to love the watch!

Great that you turned down something you are not keen on; it’s a lot of £££ for something you are unsure of.

Okay to be selective as the market is slowing down, although ADs would like to keep the mania running (or the perception of it). I'm finding SAs being more friendly and accommodating as well. Buy what you truly like as it is a lot of money. Good luck & Cheers!
