Are you getting the sub from an AD? Just curious.

As others have said, I would go 321 in your case to mix it up. You already have two automatic divers.
This gives you a manual chrono that is a technically a touch “smaller” at 39mm. I would try them both on if you haven’t already… |

I like the idea of trading the Seadweller for a Starbucks, for a pop of color, in your small collection, then treating yourself to the “Sapphire sandwich”, though my Speedy of choice would be the original, with hessalite crystal. You’d like the weight better.

Thanks again all for the detailed and well received comments. I think I will trade the SD, I have spoken to a few dealers for the best options in regards to 124060 & 126610LV. I know I can pick up a speedmaster at any point.
If going down the Rolex route I would possibly look at going Grey. I have spoken to my SA and it seems there is no timeline on the Sub and I am not one for 'playing the game' as the delta between going grey or boutique so fairly small. There really is no shortage of Subs on the secondary market. |

Then Sub is a great watch, I own that exact model. But I doubt it's much smaller that the 116600, albeit case on the sub isn't as high.

Taking the SD4K out of the equation, between the Sub 124060 and Speedy, I'd choose the Sub. However, as much as I love my Sub and SD4K, it's fair to say both are very closely aligned, thus making one somewhat redundant. If I could only have one of the two, I'd choose the SD4K. It's such a killer watch, rare, technically very capable, and the "heft" is what it makes very unique in an World densely populated by Submariners. Not sure why your Age would stop you wearing it...? |

The modern 124060 will be a nice compliment to the 16610LV (and 16520, if you still have that). As you can see in the picture, it has more presence and AR coating on the underside of the crystal helps. Good luck! |

Owning a SD and a Submariner already I would pick up the Speedmaster. It is nice to have two Rolex dive watches but do you really need a third? For some, yes. For others, redundancy. The Speedmaster is listed at 42mm but wears small, like a 40mm at best. I would be tempted to trade the SD for the 124060, I own this watch and it is my favorite. You have an LV so add the Speedmaster. I own the 3861 Sapphire in both the black and white dials and really like them. I also own a 1861 hesilite and wear it on straps and aftermarket bracelets. It would be a nice wearable collection with the 124060, LV and the Speedy. Just my thoughts.

If you don't wear your SD, sell it and get both.

I have the 124060, so i am bias here… but I would go for the Sub… it is such a great watch for any occasion…
I do love Omega too and rotate with my Seamaster NTTD… so not fully bias here haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Of the three watches you are discussing the Submariner is the least interesting to me. Buy a Speedmaster and keep the SD4K.

Personally I’m not a fan of the sub, it was something I looked up to when I started the hobby but now that I’m more informed I think it’s vanilla and not very interesting . Speedmaster would be a more interesting choice

I would get neither ... An Omega SeaMaster 300M would be my choice. SubMariner is a great heritage feel watch and obviously so is the speedy , but if I personally tried those two on and then the black faced 300M , I would almost certainly grab the latter.

The 124060 is a different watch than your 16610LV. I’d add that modern sub. Just another WIS who loves to trade. @bladeandwatch1 on IG

The modern sub is great if you get at retail. But add the Speedy! I have both and they wear completely different and wear for different things. The Speedy can also be changed up easier with straps.

I’d like to thank you all for all your guidance, today I bit the bullet and went all in. I picked up a 126610LV, I got a good offer on the SD4K and therefore the delta was justified to get a MK2 LV.
I’m really happy with this decision. |

I own both, a Sub date and sapphire Speedmaster. Sub gets about 3x more wear, but when I do wear the Speedy, I enjoy the retro styling and its definitely comfortable. You really can't go wrong either way, but if you have to choose, I'd say go with the Sub.
Edit: I see you got the Sub. Bravo!! |
