Sky Dweller is a nice watch in all colors, sometimes I wish I still had mine, I really like the month complication, but I'm not going down that road again

My 2 latest are the blue dial Sky-D and the mint DJ41. I think the blue on Sky-D is more classic, but the mint DJ is superb. Rolex sunburst dials are striking.

The mint green is very nice. Love the skydweller complication.

Green is nice, but I prefer the blue. I'm on the waiting list for a blue Sky-D. I hope I get the call sometime during my lifetime.

Green skydweller
I went green when I had the opportunity, and never looked back. I would have accepted a blue or black dial, but did not hesitate when the call came for this one.
A good coffee table book not just for guys. If you like watches, and the stories about the personalities of those who wear them, check it out. |

Finally Saw Mint Green Skydweller in Person:
Quote:
A sexist coffee table book, which I’m sure I’d enjoy anyway. I wonder why more women aren’t into watches, the way, me, MichelleP, Kinikeet, JTL31, and a few others are. I guess most women just see them as jewelry, rather than the marvelous little machines that keep track of all the events of our lives. I think I feel a whole new thread coming on. Food for thought, in the meantime. I’ll be borrowing that pic, as part of my thesis. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

What is your thesis on may I ask? I hope I didn’t come off as sexist ,I bought the book on vacation in South Carolina this summer ,and if there was a volume about women and their watches, I would have gladly added that one as well.

Green is amazing in person and that's coming from someone who loves blue dials. It changes from a lighter green to a deep olive at times. Some people say its a bit muted but I think the color and tone looks great.

Not at all. No worries! Just the book title! I’m sure I’d love the pics. Just wondering why so few women are into the hobby. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Looks good on you and not too big, IMO. How did you find the depth? With a 6.5” wrist, a 42mm watch is absolutely fine for daily wear for me personally, it comes down to the bracelet/strap and if the case sits well. I am debating between a DJ41 and one of the sky dwellers, curious if you felt there was a huge difference? Good luck with it!
Also no love for the champagne dial on a SD? |

I actually like all the dial colors. As for depth, I did not notice that it was too thick. I will have to look through all my pics, from various visits, to see if I’ve ever tried on a 41 mm DJ. I did try on the OP 41. I prefer the look of a 36 mm watch, on me, but own plenty of larger pieces. I wish Rolex would consider making a 39 mm Sub. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Watches have always been advertised and marketed as a lifestyle for a man and merely an "accessory" for a woman. Men wear watches to climb Everest, compete in regattas, dive to unheard of depths. They are marketed and sold as a metaphor of ("masculine" leaning) accomplishment. Now think of how women in watch ads are traditionally portrayed. Evening gown? Next to a man in a tux? Adorned with other jewelry? It's a very interesting topic. I think (and hope) it's changing as we see more female athletes and adventurers become brand ambassadors. Another one of many areas where women were overlooked and neglected and certainly a missed revenue opportunity for the industry. People will buy what makes us feel good over what makes us look good every time. |

Green vs blue dial
Don't think you can go wrong with either personally, both beautiful dials on a fantastic watch...AD has promised me one of the two next month after purchasing my wife's daydate this month...didn't need the extra incentive as I was buying the daydate anyway but it would be a welcomed 'bonus'

You could always pick up an Explorer 1 39. That was a perfect watch, that they should have left alone, rather than going to 40 mm. The 36 is perfect for my wrist size. Can’t wait for that call. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I always preferred the blue until I saw the green in person. What an amazing watch. It wears really well on a 7 inch wrist.

Kat, Thanks for the heads up about the latest Rolex Magazine. I went by the local AD and picked one up. Have you noticed the Activity going on in the AfterDark forum? Your PM storage is maxed out. You should delete some of your PMs. |

Kat sounds like a great visit. The watch looks good on you but I know the SkyD is a chunky watch!
My AD had this exact configuration on exhibition and really changed my mind on the jubilee. This green dial is on my list in either bracelet. |

The green dial absolutely looks great, I saw one in person the last time I visited to my AD.
