I'm not sure what you're asking. If you want another watch, get it. If you don't, don't.

I don’t see why not. If it’s a passion still, do it. I buy watches because it’s a passion of mine. As are cars. Just passionate about them. So until I feel enough is enough, I will still keep doing me.

What is Age Really
In college they said I was too young to buy a Rolex.

i sense what you're getting at. At some point, people usually can be happy with what they have and a large majority would like to conserve assets for their heirs or future generations, even if they could continue buying more. I hope to provide for my future family as well.

Buy it if you want it and can afford it.

I am definitely over 60 but don't necessarily have "enough" money sitting around so my answer is NO! I stopped collecting watches two years ago and started collecting money.

I am in my final year of the 50's. I have bought many Rolex watches but I started the move watches I was not enjoying as much. I have my collection where I like it. I will likely reduce it in time but my zeal for buying has greatly diminished. Keep the watches you love and sell the ones you are no longer in love with.

I am 67 and still collecting watches. If I were worried about funding a retirement, I don’t know if I’d be doing that. But I am not in that situation, and I enjoy the watches, and can afford it. So I do. You have to consider your circumstances and goals.
I recognize Rolex watches have value, but I collect them because I like them, not because they are an investment to be managed. Others feel different. |

If you can afford no issue.
I am 60+, but will eventually keep less in collection. If need money you can sell in the future when you can’t enjoy them for some reason.… Hopefully alll good for you for a long time.

Exactly this. Not sure what age has to do with anything. Most members here are older, many are retired, and apparently we can afford to buy Rolexes. I don’t have any issue with continuing to buy and enjoy the watches I love. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

It sounds like you’ve collected for monetary appreciation, not because you appreciate your collection. If that’s the case, and you have enough money, then no, I don’t see the point. Let someone who enjoy owning the watches acquire them. |

I was well over 60 when I could afford a Rolex. At this point, I'm saving for my next one: I'm just starting.

Confused by the OP question. What does worth it mean. If you enjoy design, innovation and aesthetic, you might find owning a nice watch “worth it”.

It is worth continuing to buy Rolex watches
I’m 61. I just retired. Life has just begun. Of course I’m buying another Rolex. Maybe two or three.

I'll be 58 at the end of this year and plan to sell my business in 2 years when my kid's college expenses end.
I'm planning to spend more time and resources on my hobbies which includes watch collecting. |

A buddy of mine had a t-shirt that read "The one who dies with the most toys, wins."
I thought that was a good philosophy. Of course, he's dead now, but he knew what made him happy and enjoyed what he had. Live for yourself, live for the day, don't save it for the next guy.

Very different perspective than I had 10-15 years ago. It's led me to the conclusion that I'll get one more to cap things off...certainly a PM model, probably a DD40. |

Sounds like your using material goods to fill a void. Go for a hike or do charity work then you wont care anymore.

Exactly. I'm 72 and counting, and plan on continuing buying more and wearing with enjoyment and satisfaction.

If you enjoy doing it, keep doing it.
Also, whoever you leave your watches to will appreciate it. You’ve probably got many more years. Enjoy them. |

Maybe I'm different, but I don't see 60 as some sort of milestone when life begins to end.

This is where I tend to land, not to mention it entails a whole other set of hoops to jump through to buy one.
