Trade Meteorite Daytona for 5164a
I would not do the trade. I have the meteorite WG Oysterflex Daytona, and it is the one I would choose over both the 5167a and the 5164a.
The 5167a is super comfortable and easy to wear, but not as special IMHO. The 5164a — I can’t get past the pushers on the left side of the watch, both aesthetically and functionally. Aesthetically, in my eyes, the best pics of the 5164a are when the watch is slightly tucked under a shirt cuff (hiding the pushers on the left side). Functionally, they are problematic because they get pushed inadvertently too often. If the dual time function were executed via the crown, thus removing the left side pushers, it would be a tougher call…although I’d still stick with the meteorite Daytona.

I debated between the 5164A and the OF Daytona Meteorite for about a year, decided to finally ask for the OF Daytona but didn’t think I’d ever get it.
I did about 4 months after it was announced it was discontinued. I would never do this trade. The Daytona is way more special. I could be swayed for a 5164R or the new 5164G, but it’s really no contest compared against a 5164A. |

Trade Meteorite Daytona for 5164a
Tough one! Luckily have both.. Glad I don’t have to make this choice.. I’d say they’re dead even. Gun to my head- 5164r. Stainless 5164- I’d take the meteorite I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

BAD idea! I don’t find anything interesting about the PPs pictured here. I would much rather wear your Daytona, and I’m not a huge Daytona fan. Just add the PP, or sell something else, NOT arguably the BEST watch in your collection.

I was incredibly lucky… really surprised about the allocation. I asked for the meteorite in RG. Got the text for this beauty and was super happy with it. |

Trade the top sports-model from a sports-watch company, for the second-fiddle sports-model from a dress-watch company?
That trade might be seen as missing the essence of both brands. However, both are utterly beautiful watches: you can't go wrong with either. |

I wouldn’t personally let go of the Daytona, especially with Meteorite dial …

I'd make that trade.
The 5164 is one of my favorites from Patek. |

Exactly, seriously, don't. Wife and i had the matching his AND hers Aquas here many years ago. Keep the Daytona with extraordinary out-of-this-world dial.

I would move your other Daytona and another watch from your collection. I wouldn't move the meteorite.

A unique ‘flagship’ piece in gold or an entry level steel piece? I would keep Daytona, save up or move something else for an aquanaut. |

Not a huge fan of any of the modern day Daytona but even less a fan of most all of the Patek range, good movement but just don't like there style. But today many wear the Patek name and not because of the watch so would keep the Daytona.
