Sent my SA a text asking if the…
…newest edition of the Rolex Magazine was on hand yet. They responded by asking if I was still interested in the watch I had asked for! I was, and I received confirmation the watch was ready for pickup!
My initial request was placed mid-July, second in- person visit mid-Aug to pick up a non-Rolex watch for my wife, show her the CHNR(see final approval) and get another watch back from service. 52 days all in, simple follow ups to show I was engaged, and I am now wearing my watch! Overall this process was much less painful than I was expecting based on following along the last few years. Yes, I thought about “just going grey,” as I want what I want instantly when it comes to things like watches, but having a new GMT as my first Rolex and being able to buy it from the AD myself means a lot to me. To make it even more special, it also marks a milestone in my professional career that I am proud of, and I didn’t even have to throw that out as a reason to get the watch! And yes, the SA did get me the new issue of the Rolex Magazine! As a L-O-N-G time lurker, and recently active member on this forum, I’m happy to finally be able to post a proper “got the text” post!!
