Huge thanks to RM for the super speedy service , full movement service completed in under three weeks ! ( it was pretty much untouched but with major impact having taken out a couple jewels and pivots in the big impact ) , new domed glass , waterproofed , debris removed and hands sorted ....good to go for another 65 years .
Great story, thank you for sharing. Were the hands relumed with radium?

The minute hand break , he stabilised the existing radium and filled with radium colour toned to match ( he usually won't as he hates the stuff , but made an exception because of the watch ) The second hand we found a good used one that was an almost identical match . , pop he hollowed out and refilled at same time .

The mind blowing bit for me was the seals , it's a 66 year old watch and they were all actually good and could have easily been re used !!!!

Running at +4 secs a day now !

An amazing story and one that I guess we would all hope to discover and be part of.

What incredible provenance.

The watch looks stunning, full respect to the person(s) who undertook the work.

Thanks Jed
