When my son inherits my watch, it'll have all my marks and years of use on it. I'd not wish the history to be erased with a polish.
I'd also be afraid they would try polish out the dent on the lug and you could end up with big chamfers (the infamous Bexley edge/bevel). |

Finally received the quote for the repair to my Sub Date. I did have to call them and say “hey! I’m waiting for you to contact me”. The Service Advisor apologised and said we wanted to talk with you first before sending the quote. Well they had my number etc.
So I got the quote: Complete overhaul £583.33 Replace crystal (anti reflective) £96.00 Replace Oscillating weight £73.00 Sub Total £648.16 Vat @20% (standard in the UK) £129.63 Total payable £777.79 If I want the case and bracelet refinishing add another £125.00 inc Vat Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Collected today from RSC St James London. I went for a light polish. Looks brand new again and the new crystal has fantastic clarity. Credit card is in rehab with a £902 battering Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looks amazing! A light polish was definitely a great call, it looks new, and the new crystal really makes a difference. Worth every penny, even if the credit card needs a little recovery time.

I hate polish, but mostly because flippers are destroying a lot of watches every day to make them shiny. Those watches can not go back to having character or original factory lines. Yours has been polished, so no reason not to let the factory give it a go.

I think it looks great and you made the right call with a light polish! Enjoy!
The only time I'm in the "no polish" camp is if/when the watch is both a collector grade, and you intend to re-sale (which I don't think this watch qualifies as either). Sidenote, I LOVE the 5 digit/with holes subs! |
