My journey for what it is worth. First off, I love TT watches. I have two of them, both on Jubilee (Datejust and GMT). I had always wanted a Daytona but couldn't get a SS one. So I purchased a TT white dial Daytona from my AD to try to quench my thirst for a Daytona. Unfortunately, it just didn't do it for me. The bezel and PLC's are scratch magnets and scratch from just looking at them. I tried various different straps on it to change up the look but there was something about the gold bezel that I didn't like as I think the Daytona looks best with a ceramic bezel.

So my AD suggested I go full PM. I always thought I couldn't afford a full PM piece but in reality a Daytona on OF is only a little over $10k more than the TT version. So I put my name down for a RG Daytona on OF and 4 months later it arrived at my AD. It's beautful. Much more so than the TT version. I love it so much I no longer have a desire for a SS Daytona.

To my point. You may want to consider a PM Daytona on OF. You may find you like it much more than the TT version.

Can we see some pics? I've also been kicking around the idea of a TT Daytona, 126 series.

You did not say if you liked the watch?

Generally, Rolex TT watches are suprisngly good looking, however it all deppends on the configuration, watch model, and your attire.
The Daytona TT is one of the best looking TT models and the Gold bezel despite being scratch magnet, is classier and fits better with the overall design language.

Having said that, any TT should not be your only watch because it is not suitable for all occasions.

So if you like the watch and have other watches in your collection yes it is a nice addition and a different look.

Loved mine until....

My brother in law recently decided he loved it more, ended up parting with it and will likely repurchase in the future

Yes, it’s a wonderful watch. I just prefer darker dials

Great perspective Dave thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and the pictures. I like the look of the TT on oysterflex. I am smitten on the white dial and thus thinking the TT will do. I have few days to think however.

I get your point but all my other watches are Black dial the Pepsi and Starbucks so thought the Daytona should be a white one

Beautiful pics. I almost thought it had the fluted bezel in one of the photos

You said it right. This will be the only TT in my collection. My daily drivers are the rotation of SS Pepsi on jubilee and SS Submariner LV. So this will complete the collection of three with each one having some color

Appreciate it. The TT is not for everyone.

If I had to go TT, it would be the champagne dial with the black sub dials, think that looks very fresh.

Ha I like the black with diamond. In either case black goes well with gold.

Go for it if you like it, but don't just buy it because it's a Daytona. Agree with another post, if you can wait, try the OF Daytona. To me, it's worth the wait and the extra $.

A great bright watch for a weekend brunch out in the sun. Cousin used to have one, regrets parting with it.

This is the same model that they give to winners of the 24 hours of Daytona, so there is heritage in this watch as well!

For over 20k I think I would save and get the OF is possible. I think the new champagne with the black is the best looking 2 tone. I like the black dial with the full gold sundials but not a fan on the diamonds on that dial.

At the end buy what you like. Me personally I would get a 116500 used for a little more when you consider retail plus tax on the 2 tone
