In any event I would need to see the full picture before offering an opinion.

Is it genuine?
It's not my watch, no. But it is for sale from a very reputable grey dealer here in the UK. I took a screenshot from Chrono24.

I know I'm OCD particular, when it comes to stuff like this The purpose of the thread was to see what other people's views are.

It's very clear that the majority aren't bothered in the slightest. Fine!

Some others are bothered by it. Also, fine!

My 2p worth is that this isn't acceptable by Rolex's high standards. In my opinion it's like seeing a luxury vehicle with a wonky license plate, but this is my opinion only.

I can be viewed as it’s fine or not fine. The assumption is that it hasn’t been mucked with by an authorized party. This misalignment can be proof that it has been opened.

Rolex Crown Alignment

It’s just the dial. There’s some play in it before they tighten it all down. Easily fixed and not uncommon.

Yes. But I think the point is for what we pay for these watches the QC should be a little better at the factory. Like someone should at least go over it with a loupe, check for dial alignment, dust inside and so on. One would hope at least.

They often come from the factory that way. Its not proof its been opened.

If anything, its proof it hasn't been opened, as a good watchmaker would want it better aligned.

And you'll very rarely see that on a superfake/clone either.

I don’t disagree.

I do think Rolex QC could and should be better for the prices they charge.

That's a lot of man hours when the company is churning out well over one million watches a year and maybe 99% of owners won't check for alignment, dust particles, etc.

Oh great, you have to throw a truth bomb into the conversation. The level of consternation for insignificant details is comical these days. Fortunately there are level heads, like yourself, to point out the silliness of it.

I agree, not a big deal but, once noticed, it is difficult to un-notice. Everyone has a different personality and many focused, detail-oriented individuals (I would say many Rolex owners on this forum) might be bothered by it.

Here is a photo of a CPO 116610 on Tourneau's website. They are charging >$15k for it as well.

I would add that after looking at the rehaut of various 12s and 11s this afternoon, the 12s are markedly 'better' aligned than the 11s. Maybe that's what QC was focusing on over the past few years :)

I would not be ok with this. I have several Rolexes and have never seen this before so not sure how common it actually is.
