Hard no, that RO is one of the nicest models I’ve seen.

I agree with some of the others here. Get the AP serviced. While it’s away, I think you’ll miss it. Looks terrific on your wrist

Bring it to your nearest AP house/boutique.
You can even request service in your AP profile and (in some regions) AP will arrange complimentary pick up. This movement is quite robust and has been in multiple variants of the ROC from 38m to 41m. The power reserve you should be getting is 40 hours, per specification. No way I would trade it for a SS Daytona. |

Didn’t know the 26315 doesn’t hack.
Sell it, get a Daytona and add a time-only RO - problem solved ;) |

Even though your RO is, from my point of view, the nicest one, I am not a fan of the RO models and I prefer a Daytona by far. Having said this, if you can afford it, try to buy the 126500LN keeping your RO. I think both are compatible and key timepieces for any watch lovers.
The best watch is not one of the “holy trinity”, the one made of the best precious metals or jewels, the most expensive one or the rarest piece. The best watch is the one you really want to wear on you wrist the majority of the time. Think which one is this one before deciding. Anyway, get your RO serviced. |

Those are the best photos of a watch someone wants to trade away I have ever seen!
Aesthetically the Daytona is a downgrade. |

If the switch is to an OysterFlex Daytona, I will be more inclined to say yes. I get so much more satisfaction wearing the OF Daytona than the RO.... SS Daytona is a little overrated.... good watch but not what everyone makes it to be...

I like the Daytona more than your watch, but i don’t think it’s worth anywhere close to what it’s going for on the secondary market.

Keep the AP for sure. Or at least keep it, add the Daytona, and then decide.

The lack of hacking seconds in what is supposed to be a precision timing instrument kinda blows my mind though. |

As the owner of a WG Daytona and ROO Diver, I would say you would have to be crazy to do that trade. Your watch is amazing. While I understand the thought, I really believe in short order you will regret the trade.

I own both. If you trade the RO chrono for a Daytona, I would suggest the full white gold Daytona 126509. If you go with the stainless 126500 after wearing the RO, it’s going to feel light and small with less wrist presence. Get a white gold Daytona. It’s a beautifully chrono and has more replacement heft and visual cues you may miss.

Personally I sold my Daytona; my RO is a keeper.
You have to do what is best for you however. |

I'd keep the AP. The power reserve can be easily resolved with a service.
I think you'd miss the finishing and overall craftsmanship of the ROC. It looks great on you. |

I have both watches - the exact royal oak you posted and the white dial 12 series daytona. I completely understand what you're saying about the AP, but if I had to choose between the 2 I would stick with the AP ROC.

I'm not really an AP guy, but man, that is one sexy example.
There are some watches you just don't want to unload, regardless of what the heart's desire is...that would be one, IMO. I would look for another path to get the Daytona. Good luck, |

Royal Oak for Daytona?
I love a Daytona but I fear there will be a very high chance of regret if you replace that AP with a SS Daytona.

Forget about the “Holy Trinity” nonsense as that has nothing to do with a watch’s worth to the owner as that term was invented purely for horological snobbery.
Without question, the Daytona will be more robust and cheaper to maintain over the lifetime of ownership. I will also argue the Daytona’s movement will keep better time on average. I guess it’s all what qualities you find superior and value most. There is no wrong answer as both are high quality timepieces that will age well. Funny enough, no “Holy Trinity” time piece holds the record of most valuable wrist watch ever to sell at auction. That honor goes to the factory made Rolex SS Daytona.

Panda Daytona. I like contrast. The monochromatic look of that particular AP isn’t my style. Now that I think of it, I also never liked Regis Philbins mono style in 99-2000.
Also, I never liked the date wheel sliding down the side of the dial. Prefer none or at 6 or 3 if it’s not some high horological display like a Lange and Sohne.

Keep the AP, it is such a great watch, far better than a Daytona IMHO, the AP looks wonderful on your wrist, it needs to stay there.
